The Death of Yugoslavia is award-winning tour featuring the complete timeline of the nation's birth and death. By visiting three locations, we explore Yugoslavia during the Cold War, directly between the nuclear missiles of both Warsaw and the NATO pact. We explore Tito and how his actions led to the formation of a prosperous non-aligned country. We explore the rise of nationalism after the fall of Communism. And finally, we witness the Yugoslavian War. All of this will be seen among these locations, unwilling monuments to the existence of a country which died more than 20 years ago but is still alive in the minds of its former citizens.

Inclusions: All taxes, fees and handling charges, Local taxes, Driver/guide

Exclusions: Food and drinks, Hotel pickup and drop-off (if option not selected)

Art is not the first thing that comes to our minds when we think about Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo, but we assure you that Sarajevo has one of the best art scenes in region. In this tour we will visit few locations in Sarajevo that are related to conceptual and contemporary art, we talk to local artists and art curators. Conceptual art is a direction in modern art from the early 1960s to the mid 1970s. It emerged as an artist's desire to dematerialize the subject of artistic activity, using non-traditional artwork and materials (polaroid, art, film, video, body art, happening, urban action). Join us in this awesome tour! We start every day, except sunday, at 13:00 in front Sacred Heart Cathedral.

After spending 2 days at Sarajevo by myself I felt I need to see more of this beautiful country. Luckily I met someone who recommended this tour. I firstly booked a half day tour to Trebević mountain and to the tunnel of hope, the tour was great so I decided to to book a full day tour where we visited 5 cities in Bosnia. I totally recommend this tour, the agents are very professional and friendly everything went exactly as planned. Ask for Mak.. he's great ????

On our honeymoon, my wife and I joined Nikola’s Siege of Sarajevo/War Tunnel tour. It affected us so much that we came back for a second tour that afternoon, for Nikola's street art tour. A year later, I’m still asking the questions that Nikola and Sarajevo lit up in my mind. What is nationalism? What is the state? What is self-determination? What will it take to achieve a truly free society? I’d asked these questions before, but Sarajevo helped me see new colors. I don’t know if any other tour guide could have held these themes up to the light in the same way that Nikola did for me. It felt like every piece of history was personal to him, like he was unraveling a mystery--and I sensed that somehow I was involved in the mystery too, and that solving it would involve uncovering things that I had been searching for without realizing. That still feels true to me now that I’m back home. That’s why I keep thinking about Sarajevo and Nikola.

Lukomir is the highest and most isolated village in Bosnia. This hike is also the most popular hike in the country. And for a good reason. It offers all: amazing views, long walks, culture, history and legends. This is the most popular one day trip from Sarajevo. We start our tour on the southern slopes of Bjelašnica mountain, from medieval Umoljani village. We will make a short stop on ancient necropolis at Dolovi, and then continue towards Umoljani. We will then pass through Gradina - highland summer village, and go to Studeni Potok stream. On the way, we will visit 40-meter Peruće Waterfall before continuing to Lukomir. Our last stop - Lukomir village. It lives the same life for more than 600 years, Bosnia’s highest and most isolated mountain village. On the edge of the village you will be treated to a breathtaking view of Rakitnica Canyon. We will have traditional homemade lunch prepared by our hosts. You will also have the opportunity to purchase local handcrafts

Inclusions: Hiking sticks, Fantastic Bosnian traditional, home-made, freshly cooked lunch by locals in Lukomir. (Available options: halal, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free), Trail mix on the trail., Coffee and/or Tea, Air-conditioned vehicle, Private transportation

On November 9, 1993, one of Mostar's cultural treasures became a casualty of war. The Old Bridge in Mostar, built in 1566 during the Ottoman Empire, was destroyed by shells fired by Croatian gunners amid fierce fighting with Bosnian Muslims. After the war, the bridge was rebuilt, using many of the same limestone blocks that were salvaged from the river. The reopening of the bridge by Prince Charles in 2004 was symbolic and a sign that life was slowly returning to normal, as well as being testament to the courage and persistence of the city’s inhabitants. UNESCO added the bridge to their World Heritage list in 2005. The Bulevar street runs from the north to the south of the city. During the war it used to be the frontline between Bosnians and Croats. Today it’s the heart of the city and home of the beautiful Mostar city hall.

Inclusions: Pick up guests, Certified tour guide, All Fees and Taxes

Exclusions: Food, drinks and all extra costs are on the customers responsibility.

I had come to Mostar expecting to only spend a day. Once in the city, I was very impressed with everything. The city is beautiful, people were very welcoming. I found their information at a photography exhibit and asked about booking it. Sanja was very kind and helpful. She gave me an incredible tour of the city with lots of history and advice for other things to see and do. I enjoyed the tour and city so much, I stayed for three days. My wife and I hope to come back soon. When we do, we will certainly book another tour with them. When the tour was over, I really felt like I spent the afternoon with a friend. Thank you for making Mostar so special.

If you feel annoyed by the city crowd and want to get away from it, why not take a ride in the cable car and explore the pristine nature of the mountain Trebević? It was always the most favorite spot for the locals to enjoy the fresh air and the best panorama of the city. The mountain Trebević is known in Slavic mythology as the place of sacrifice, but in modern times it is known as one of four Olympic mountains. The 1984 Winter Olympic games were the first-ever held in a socialist state and in a Slavic language-speaking country. The Sarajevo games have also been the only Olympics so far to be hosted by a Non-Aligned Movement member and by a Muslim-majority city. Take a walk on the bob-sled track, see some great graffiti, have a cup of coffee and let your inner spirit free.

I had the most interesting tour led by Riyadh -- the consummate tour guide, full of information and personal knowledge of the Tunnel. His family is from the city and lived through the Siege of Sarajevo. In fact, Riyadh was born during the siege!! He was able to relate the struggle of the city's civilians on such a personal level -- it really brought the whole experience to life for me. Never rushing our pace, patiently answering the many questions, and a thorough depth of knowledge about the Tunnel and surrounding events made Riyadh the perfect guide for the Tunnel of Hope tour!

I wholeheartedly recommend Faruk and his team at Superb Adventure Tours.  I live in Sarajevo, and my parents were coming to visit from the US for the holidays. I wanted them to see as much of Sarajevo as possible with a knowledgeable, safe guide who spoke English and could handle all of the arrangements.  I reached out to Faruk and explained exactly what I was looking for, the duration of the tour, and the requested date.  He took it from there.  Faruk picked us up on time in a spacious, clean SUV and took us for breakfast at a beautiful, peaceful farm outside the city.  My parents still rave about how delicious breakfast was!  We then drove up Trebevic mountain and had a great photo stop for a panoramic view of the city.  One of the photos ended up being our New Year's card!  After stopping for the photos, we walked along the bobsled track, which is a really cool and quintessentially Sarajevo experience.  After Trebevic, it was over to Konjic to see Tito's Bunker.  This is a "must" for any Cold War junkie.  After the bunker, we had a delicious dinner in Konjic, and Faruk delivered us back to Sarajevo.  It was a very full day, but that is exactly what we wanted.  Faruk was so knowledgeable and kind in answering my family's questions about the city, life during the war, and everything in between.  You will be very pleased with this company and the level of service they provide.  Your Bosnian tour wish is their command!  They will do everything they can to accommodate you for the best adventure possible.  Stop reading and start booking!
