2 of us went together on the trip and had a wonderful time. Good The arrangements were very organized. Our team included Andy, our guide and translator, Roberto, our cook, and Justin, our Caballero and helper around camp, were wonderful, friendly and accomodating. Justin ran the extra miles to retrieve a mattress that had been taken with another group to the next campsite. Roberto made delicious, abundant hearty food in the Peruvian style with extra touches like bananas flambe. And Andy was a wealth of knowledge on Incan culture. He was enthusiastic in helping us learn more Spanish and Quechua and to learn more English himself. On returning to Cusco, he gave recommendations for us for restaurants with good typical Peruvian food. Staying at the Sanctuary was a very welcome comfort spot mid way with hot showers and a chance to meet another group over dinner. The weather cooperated with rains mostly in the night, cool temperatures in the morning for hiking, and sunny afternoons for relaxing when arriving at destination. The roads are gnarly to get to the base of the trail, however, we had Fidel, who was not only a very competent driver, but good natured as well. Choquequirao was fabulous and uncrowded, allowing for a very intimate experience. Overall, the trip was well worth the pain and effort. Needs Improvement Once we paid our downpayment, there was no confirmation until we asked. When we went to check in at the office, it was not where it was noted on the email communications. This made us a little nervous. However, we were able to find the office it with directions from locals. When we went to pay the remainder of the fees, they said we had to pay in cash as the Visa machine wasn't working. We had difficulty withdrawing enough cash to cover the remaining fees and were left short for any additional expenses we could have incurred. If we had not checked in before our briefing the night before the excursion, we would not have had a chance to get the cash. The tents were tired and worn. There were pin holes, missing stakes and guy lines, so they could not be set up properly with the outer shells were not spaced from the inner shell and transferred moisture when raining. One of the tents had a stuck zipper.

My son was travelling for 4 months in South America and when he asked if I'd like to accompany him to trek and see Machu Pichu I jumped at the chance. The trek was superbly agonised and the food was amazing! I wouldn't say it was easy for a 54 year old but my son and the group and guide we were with kept me going. Worth every day of waking up at 4:45am with a cup of cocoa tea delivered to you! Our guide, Felix, was so knowledgeable about all the history, land and culture so we were well educated along every step of the way. We had the add-ons, with the poles, sleeping bags and the extra day hike to Rainbow Mountain. Totally recommend it to anyone that wants to do it in style and enjoy it!

Visiting Lima is always a rewarding experience! We booked an early evening visit to the awesome "Huaca Pucllana" inca ruins, rather impressive with the scenic lights on. Right after the visit, reservations were made at "Huaca Pucllana Dining Experience", a restaurant by the acclaimed Chef Marilú Madueño! No need to say we got a table almost in front of the main pyramid! What a feeling! We had a fantastic dinner, with courteous and kind service, a nice wine and Chef Marilú Madueño outstanding cuisine - Italian flavors and Peruvian touches. We loved the experience! Bon Appétit!

An extremely well organised tour to rainbow mountains. We got a breifing of the tour by Juve a couple of days before departure. His english is very fluent and was very friendly, experienced and professional. We got picked up on time. Was a 3 hour journey to our camp site. The food was over and above our expecations. The cook and his helper did an amazing job with breakfast and lunch. Juve was very patient with us and allowed us to walk up at our own pace as the altitude can really affect you. He carried an oxygen tank just in case which is great. It was an excellent tour and strongly recommend it to anyone.

Big Willy and his crew were absolutely amazing ! 6 Days we hiked through the breath taking Peruvian landscapes, Big Willy provided so much knowledge of the earth, the sites and the general knowledge of his people. This hike was the first that my friend and I had ever done, besides small ones within Australia, and although it was challenging and not for the faint of heart. It was absolutely incredible and Big Willy would always accomodate for those who need to go a bit slower or would need to have a small rest. Big Willy even prior to the hike was always able to be contacted to ask any questions and to discuss even the minor details like dietary requirements, any little changes and/ or challenges you want to add to the trip. During the time we were hiking my friend and I shared one tent that was cool, ate food that was prepared for us by the amazing crew which was incredible and completely exceeded my expectations. As a whole I still to this day rave about the trip that was only possible with Big Willy. His knowledge has stuck with me, the laughs, the games and the jokes that were shared along the way will always remind me of the amazing trip that we had. 100% would highly recommend Big Willy and the Auqui Crew for the absolute best trip through Peru. If anyone would like more information and/or details on the trip that we did, please feel free to ask. Thank you for a trip of a lifetime Big Willy, Cheers Shenea.

My fiancé and I went to Peru in September 2019. EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! The staff was amazing, including our tour guide, Richard, the weather was warm during the day but cool at night. No rain the entire time! We ended up doing the Salkantay trek and ending at Machu Picchu. Richard was so friendly, encouraging and very knowledgeable. He knew everything about the beautiful country he lives in as well as the history of every place we went to while we were with him (I'm a history nerd so I loved every minute of it)!! We truly couldn't have asked for a better tour guide or tour company to go with. We ended up getting engaged in Machu Picchu which was incredible itself and we were lucky enough for Richard to snap a forever photo of us. We have that photo as well as all the others from our trip hanging up in our house. We dearly miss our new friend, Richard and Peru and we can't wait to go back in the future. We will definitely use this company again! Hope you all are well @Sungatetours. Love, Sarah and Andrew
