This tourist information centre is exceptional, we were met with a friendly smile and greeting from the staff on duty (4nov ) This centre has a brilliant display of the mining pioneers, local indigenous people and anything to do with the early history of the town, there’s an on-site underground mine you can visit, along with a mini lagoo with its own waterfall all located in a garden setting. There’s a cafe along with the usual local souvenirs and a recently opened indigenous art gallery ...don’t miss it.

Ram Park's buildings and displays are designed to inspire residents of Blackall and visitors to the region to reflect on the present and imagine the future, through active engagement with the past. While visiting Ram Park, stop in at the Blackall Visitor Information Centre and pick up some brochures for your journey.
We stopped in Blackall for the night not really expecting too much. $8 campsite in town was perfect. We then got a friendly visit from Stewie from the information centre inviting us to see his show over the road at the ram park at 10am. We are so glad we took up his lovely offer. We’d been to the Stockmans hall of fame and waltzing Matilda museum in the days prior but we both thought this was better and it was free! There is a donation box in the front building, so don’t miss that. Stewie was such a fantastic host and tour guide and a wealth of knowledge. We will definitely recommend it to others and do our best to come back one day soon and ask a million more questions to Stewie, a third generation local & former drover from Blackall. We learnt more there in a couple of hours than we did at both of the last museums purely due to the personal nature of the tour and hands on and inclusive approach. Thanks again Stewie & offsider (Scott I think, sorry if that’s wrong - also very informative thank you)

The Longreach Visitor Information Centre is dedicated to supplying up-to-date information, to visitors and locals, on tours, attractions, accommodation and places to eat. We also supply brochures on other regions in Queensland and can help with a wealth of traveling knowledge. We are also a booking centre for most tours in the Longreach Region.
I went in here to see about transport to Winton and other nearby towns and left with a heap of other information I did not expect to obtain. The local lady on duty this Sunday afternoon was extremely helpful, with information about all sorts of things from trips in and around Longreach, to places of interest to see. The Information Regional Centre is a must to visit, even if just to have a browse around.
