Excellent location. Staff are even better. Thank you so much for your service. Accommodation is a little dated, but it works. Location is great. Photos online are honest representation. Suited our family stay.

Pros and Cons: + Very close to the bus terminal, easy to get to even if you're dragging your luggages along + Despite the close proximity to bus terminal, rooms are quiet as it is tucked away from the main roads + Clean, comfortable rooms that are decently spacious + Good heating provided + A small positive, you get window view of (slightly obstructed) Mt. Fuji - You have to pay a small premium compared to other guesthouses in the area for all the benefits above.

My 4 bed apartment was cosy with comfortable beds. The location is handy, being a walk of about 700m from the nearby Echoland precinct of Hakuba with a wide choice of dining options. A free bus pickup stop is located right outside for transfer to the various resorts in Hakuba Valley. The two storey apartment is not large and would be a little cramped with 4 guests. Drying wet ski gear with 4 guests would also be problematic. As I was on my own this was not a problem. The walls between the adjoining apartment are not soundproof so you can hear conversations and people thumping up the staircase. In spite of these negative aspects I would stay there again as the price is competitive, but not with 4 people.

We had a great stay - 2 adults and 5 teen boys. Everything was provided - comfortable bedding, towels, washing machine. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishware and cutlery, pots and pans. Comfortable living areas with space. Only downside was paying additional daily rate for a charcoal bbq. Fly screens on windows was a big plus! Plenty of ventilation with windows and fans and located under trees which helps keep the chalet cool enough in summer. Located on a Quiet lane.

Its my second stay at the Brownie Condos. I found the Brownie Condos staff to be helpful, the condos to be warm (2 x split a/c units) comfortable and functional - kitchenette to cook, breakfast, make lunch, cook dinner. Most local amenities within 15 minute eg restaurants, bars, convenience stores, ski hire (Rainbow have a deal with the Condo - discounts, pick you up for fitting, drop you back at the condo, and collect gear from condo when you leave). Its only a couple of minute walk to the various shuttle bus stops so you can access the various local ski resorts. Tetsu (I think he's the owner) will get you to and from Happo BT or the Hakuba Station by the Condo shuttle bus on arrival and departure. He also runs the shuttle to and from the Big Supermarket (good luck understanding what food you are buying!) and local on-sen 3 times during week days and if you arrive on a weekend, will take you for supplies. Condos sleep up to 5 configured in 2 bedrooms, a small living area, incorporating small dining table and kitchenette. The bathroom is separated into 3 sections - basin area (which includes the washing machine), toilet recess and shower recess (warm strong shower) giving users privacy. First time I stayed fro 9 nights with 3 mates, second time 6 nights with another adult and 2 children. Whilst quarters are close there's still enough room to get your own space. Obviously 5 paying adults makes the accom pretty good value comparative to say Perisher rates. Beds are firm to my liking but I found the pillows uncomfortable (for the 30 seconds or so I stayed awake each night after smashing the slopes!) As far as food, we alternated eating in one night out the next, and made our own breakfast each morning. Many of the restaurants in Echo Land need to be booked in advance. Make your restaurant bookings when you are in town one evening all in advance. There are a few walk in restaurants but expect to wait for a seat. Take your streaming devices, cards, board games etc for nights in as there is only Japanese content on the TV (strange that eh?) Can't recall if 2 or 3 floors to the building, but all rooms are accessed by stairs - no lift. There's a drying room downstairs but its hit and miss as to whether the heater gets turned on so we some drying in our room. There's also a small bar and bistro downstairs, nothing special, but somewhere to socialise, have a bevy and some basic fare. Its basic but comfortable functional accommodation and more than adequate if the focus is full downs on the slopes, ticks all the boxes if skiing or boarding is what the trip is about. As far as skiing/boarding goes, plenty of Japow and terrain for all levels across the various resorts in Hakuba Valley - I rate it as one of the best places I've ever skied. Also in my experience, if you don't intend to resort hop buy daily lift tix (in conjunction with the on line discount vouchers on offer which you can down load from resort websites before you leave) The saving will be worthwhile comparative tot he Valley Pass. Cheers

Many excellent things about the owner/manager and the property: 1. The owner/manager Hiroyuki-san picked my group up from Kawaguchiko station in a minivan which accommodated 4 of us and all of our luggage. 2. Hiroyuki-san remained contactable up-till the pickup timing through e-mail, which was very helpful because there was no way to contact him through phone (we did not have a Japanese phone number). Our connecting bus was delayed and we had to postpone the pickup timing, which he graciously accommodated. 3. He offered to stop by the supermarket in town for us to buy groceries before heading to the villa - an excellent suggestion as the villa is a residential area without shops around. 4. The villa was spacious and excellently furnished with almost anything you could imagine - Cookware and utensils, basic seasoning and oil, a full fridge, among others. Everything you'd need for a proper getaway. We booked the villa with a view of Mount Fuji from the bathtub. Enjoying the view in the heated jacuzzi tub was a great experience. The property is a 5 minute walk away from a small strip of park by Lake Kawaguchiko, with an excellent view of Mount Fuji and the Lake together. 5. Hiroyuki-san remained contactable through Whatsapp, and graciously offered to transport us when we discovered that the nearby bicycle rental store was not open. 6. Hiroyuki-san dropped us off at Kawaguchiko station after check-out. While the property is in a slightly remote area, the entire town is more or less a calm and chill place where shops close early. Therefore it probably would not be much different compared to staying in the town centre.

The 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bath chalets are split between two levels. The first-floor houses both bedrooms, while the spacious living area and kitchen are on the second floor. A gas fireplace in the living rooms creates a warm atmosphere. Powdersuites sleeps four comfortably, with space for two extra persons on a queen-sized sofa-bed (charges for additional persons apply). For large groups, there are three other Powdersuites available that can be booked all right next door to each other. Separate entrances provide privacy, while your friends are just a few steps away.
In a word: brilliant. So glad we stayed here. The photos do not do it justice – luxurious interior, great heating (floor and gas fireplace). Upon arrival at Hakuba Station we were greeted by Joel who drove us to Powder suites and briefed us on the property. The reaction of our usually hard to please 18 year old was “this is pretty flash!” We considered eating out during or 4 night stay but chose take-away instead in order to spend more time in our Powdersuite. What was completely indispensable was the provision of a vehicle as part of our package: a Hiace van with snow tyres – brilliant (must have an international driving permit in order to drive). We saved so much time not having to catch a shuttle bus or taxi going to the different ski resorts and shops. And the van doubles as a ski storage! Hakuba is well spread out and walking around is not really an option unless you find somewhere ‘ski in ski out’. Saying that, Powdersuites are only about 600m from Hakuna47 and only a little further from Goryu – so well located. My most enduring memory was waking up one skiing morning and preparing breakfast while looking at the snow tumbling down all around via the ample windows. The place also has a fully equipped kitchen, coffee pod machine, two bathrooms (so rare in Japan), drying room and we chose the option of a fold out sofa bed for our third child. The Hakuba Collection are also able to organise ski hire and lessons at a discount. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

If you are there for ski for a couple of days, this is the right place for you to stay. The little cottage is suitable for a small family or a small group of friends, well equipped with basic facilities, you can have your own bbq outside the cottage too. Shops and restaurants are far from there, you may need to drive for 30 mins from nearest town.

2 Chalets Under 1 Roof - Contemporary design and modern luxuries provide a stunning retreat for visitors. Located in the heart of Echoland, the White Fox Chalet is a stand alone chalet with two separate 3 bedroom accommodation units - each 140sqm and split level. The chalets are warmed by underfloor heating & have heated parking lots. Large private dry rooms easily fit all your ski gear.
