Hue is clustered around the Perfume River, which splits the capital of the Nguyễn Dynasty in two. There are endless must-see historic sites, especially those that are UNESCO World Heritage designated. Sightseeing can include the ornate Imperial Citadel, colorful Thanh Toan Bridge, royal tombs and the Forbidden Purple City. Spend a moment in quiet contemplation if you visit Hue Jungle Crevice, where thousands of citizens were pushed to their deaths.

Duc met us promptly at 8:00AM and we wobbled through traffic until made it onto quiet country roads. We stopped at a temple and then a pagoda - where Duc took the time to explain the differences between the two. At the Pagoda, we were welcomed by the nuns and they offered us some refreshments. We then arrived at a small village where we enjoyed Vietnamese coffee and then the owner took us out in his boat, passing under the Japanese bridge enroute to the canal where we helped cast his nets, bang on the sides of the boat to attract the fish and then pull in our catch. He was pleased to have something to take to market and we had the fun. Our next stop was our cooking class where Hung showed us how to make 3 local dishes (banh nao, banh xeo and summer rolls). He surprised us with 2 more dishes when we sat to eat (chicken with lemon grass and pumpkin soup). This was the best meal we have had in Vietnam so far! We then had a leisurely cycle back into Hue, having stopped for an up-close look at a rice paddy and a visit to a bomb shelter hidden in a small temple, under a tree in the middle of a rice paddy. All in all, this was the best tour we have taken. Duc is well-informed, articulate and patient. With schools being closed, we got to meet his son Johnny over lunch which was a delight. And finally, I’d like to acknowledge the owner of Ngoc Trang Travel in Hue who arranged our tour on very short notice the night before. She kept laughing a lot and told us we would have a very good time. We couldn’t agree more, returning that evening to thank her.

It was more than perfect. I was kinda worried about the rain but SUMMER has brought me the rain coat. I rode with Summer on her bike and she took me to some places I wanted to visit and even a place to try some local snacks. That was a very memorable moment and I absolutely enjoyed the tour. Thanks again to SUMMER and I highly recommend this tour to everyone who wants to know more about this city, HUE with a local.

Chose this tour company thru my canadian travel agent. Excellent choice. It was a private tour. Our guide, our driver my husband and I. It was a good choice considering the covid 19 epidemic. From beginning to abrupt end of our tour we had excellent knowledgeable guides and top drawer accommadations. The tours were well planned and gave us a good understanding of their homeland and what made them proud. We had time to investigate things on our own as well. Unfortunately we had to leave one week early but plan to return one day. We would not hesitate using this company again. We are in our 60's and our activities met our abilities. Felt safe and well informed with necessary changes. We were given a refund for places we were unable to go to

My Son is a world heritage site, so it is really worth a visit. It was beautiful and interesting, and our tourguide gave us all the interesting information and also let us take fabulous pictures.
