The Kallio Library is a branch of the Helsinki City Library. It is located next to the Bear Park in the Kallio district. This red brick building from 1912 is the fourth oldest library building in Finland. The Art Nouveau interior is very striking and very different from what you could expect from outside.

Had the pleasure of visiting the Helsinki University Library on a walking tour of the city, and it was the one stop I wish we could have spent more time to wander and soak in the amazing architecture. If I had a free afternoon, I would love to just settle in here and read or listen to music.

Situated next to the sea in an historic industrial setting, Gumbostrand Konst & Form is a one-of-a-kind combination of art gallery, design shop, café-restaurant and inspiring corporate conference and event facilities - all under one roof. This unique art and event totality is located in a reverently restored 1950s Hartwall factory building in the Gumbostrand district of Sipoo, just a 30-minute trip from the Helsinki city centre. The old factory now embarks on a new exciting era, as the time-honoured Tegelhuset opens its doors to everyone with an interest in contemporary Nordic art, design and handicrafts, in addition to beautiful aesthetics and delicious food! Come and experience it for yourself - everyone is warmly welcome!
Gumbostrand is conveniently located exactly halfway between Porvoo and Helsinki and is a lovely, scenic place to make a slight detour to when travelling between the two towns. The Konst & Form comprises of a large airy cafe with tasty drinks, ice cream, pastries and salads as well as a surprisingly good art gallery. We found a number of great paintings from talented finnish artists. I have to mention the exceptionally clean and spacious, luxurious bathrooms and lockers which made our short visit there even more comfortable!

Visiting Oodi was one of the best experiences that I had in Helsinki. I'm sure you can't find any similar library! I can stay here all day long doing different kinds of things: reading books, having a cup of coffee or even playing games! What I like about Oodi is that no matter what your purpose is, there is always a suitable space for you.

We enjoyed our guided tour in this center on 8 Dec 2019. It is located about 25 minutes driving from downtown Helsinki. Quite fun and interesting, especially for kids. We booked our tickets online in advance for English tour. The center has a nice cafe and shop too. The staffs are friendly. You can try as much as sweets/chocolates during the guided tour and will be given a goodie bag when leaving too. All in all, we were glad that we spent 1 hour in the centre. The staff also helped us to book a taxi when we were ready to leave.

The Finlandia Hall is a congress and event venue on the Töölönlahti Bay. It was designed by architect Alvar Aalto and completed in 1971. Aalto wanted to use white Carrara marble on both indoor and outdoor surfaces. The main auditorium seats 1700 people, 1200 in the stalls and 500 in the balcony. It has served as a venue for several international meetings. Probably the most important meeting has been in 1975 the meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, which was participated by President Brezhnev from the Soviet Union and President Ford from the United States. Before the completion of Helsinki Music Centre in 2011, the Finlandia Hall was the main venue for the concerts of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Helsinki Philharmonic. There was a lot of discussion of the acoustics of the main auditorium and the ceiling was lowered to make it better. The building is worth to visit because of the interesting architecture. There are some guided tours but quite rarely. The dates can be found on the website of Finland Hall.
