Delaware offers vacationers miles of discoveries, like cleanest-in-the-nation beaches, opulent du Pont family mansions and the opportunity to shop sales-tax-free. Size and location also work to Delaware’s advantage. Within a few hours’ drive, visitors can stroll through quaint Colonial-era towns, savor full-flavored culinary adventures without the big-city prices, or cheer their favorite band at the annual Firefly Music Festival.

I can only speak to the First Saturday Programs that the archives offers free to the public on the first Saturday of each month. Programs begin at 10:30 A.M. and last approximately an hour. The programs are very varied and are of historical interest. The programs go beyond Delaware history as I have attended programs on the Civil War, World War I and II, genealogy, photo and paper conservation. The presenters are very professional and knowledgeable of their topic. We get a good attendance but there is room for more people. This is an excellent way to spend part of a Saturday morning.

A great starting point to knowing New Castle. There's an eight-minute film giving an overview of the town, and the docent there was knowledgeable and gave brochures and maps. Bathrooms available. NPS passport stamp available near cashier. Recommended.

We went to a concert at the new and improved Convention Center. The convention center is very nice and the sound for a concert was good.

Europe's motorways (and Italy's in particular) boast the nicest rest stops in the world. But this one is clearly the best of the best in the USA. Easy to access from either side of I-95, this rest area clearly has it all. Lots of shopping, tons of eateries, clean rest rooms and a huge open area for gathering, eating or just relaxing on your journey. Check the Pret a Manger in the corner for a delicious and wholesome sandwich that is a huge cut above the fast food options. Stop on you way to wherever you're going.
