The Māori call Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau — a maiden desired by 100 lovers,
and a valuable territory fought over for centuries for its fertile land and
natural harbors on the Pacific Ocean (to the east) and Tasman Sea (to the
west). Today, it’s New Zealand’s largest city: A vibrant and diverse place
where nature and urban life go hand-in- hand, with 48 volcanic cones, more
than 50 islands, and 29,000 km of coastline and beaches just minutes away
from the arts and shopping of the central city.

As one who travels without smartphone, laptop or tablet I was grateful for the facility for guest visitors to be able to use the library's computers to check emails and undertake any resultant surfing the web. This contrasted with the nearby Art Gallery's attitude to foreign visitors. It was also helpful that the library was open every day and well into the evening.

Chanthara at the Sky Tower I Site was so helpful when our trip to Tiri Tiri Matangi was cancelled by the operator because of the weather. She had several helpful suggestions, and was friendly and very professional. New Zealand tourism is going through some hard times at the moment, and we need more people like Chanthara in the industry. Excellent service.

Background: Having found the Wellington and Nelson iSites useful, we thought we'd visit the Auckland iSite as well. Before we did, we walked from Mt. Eden to the Auckland (War) Museum to the iSite right on the waterfront. After we visited the iSite, we continued to enjoy the waterfront then walked back to Mt. Eden. Verdict: we found the iSite location useful, as they provided us with an informative map, and some preferred pedestrian routes to walk back to the little village of Mt. Eden. If we were to visit the Auckland waterfront again, we'd probably stop by and visit the iSite as well.
