It is located on the west coast of Unguja, the main island of the Zanzibar Archipelago, roughly due north of Dar es Salaam across the Zanzibar Channel. It also serves as the capital of the Zanzibar Urban/West Region, and qualifies as a district, formally known as Zanzibar Urban District. In 2002 its population was 205,870.

We used Eddie through a recommendation on trip advisor so thought it only fair to re post a review following our experience. Eddie collected us from the airport and also took us back there five days later. Both occasions he was bang on time and his driving is very safe. Lastly we did a day trip with Eddie which included stone town, spice tour and the jungle tour. Quite a long day but was very enjoyable and very good value for money. Bonus in using Eddie is that he has Wi-fi in the car and provides some free water. Don’t hesitate to use his services, would highly recommend

The prices are fixed and totally predictable from the start. No unexpected add-ons. We contracted a driver for three trips and a guide for a walking tour, via email before we ever left home. We paid partial by credit card, the balance with cash on arrival. Our driver was always right on time, enthusiastically using his English and eager to learn more, while teaching us more Swahili. Wish I'd written his name down, but he said he was the one main driver. We also happened to meet his boss who was very cheerful and friendly. Stronlgy recommend this company
