After catching several trains to get to the Hakodate ropway, we were treated with friendly and very helpful staff... the ropway provided excellent 360 degree views of Mt Fuji and the suuoundung beautiful scenery as we descended to lake Ashi. On arrival at the lake we transferred to a pirate ship and took a leisurely cruise around the lake. Return trip via train from Tokyo and several hours in the area makes for a very long but enjoyable day trip..

The landscape is spectacular and worth to queue. The wind is very strong and blew with snow like storm, so sometime we could hardly see the things on top, then stop at the middle station and enjoy the view there. Will come back for skiing, must be wonderful experience.

The Loople (hop-on, hop-off) one-day pass is a great way to see the attractions of Sendai. We made the mistake of doing it on a Monday, when most of the museums and other attractions are closed.
