I’m a lifelong resident of Pinellas county and have been wanting to try the ferry. So on this beautiful March day we went from St Pete to Tampa. We took the 1:30 trip and landed at the Tampa convention center. Walked the riverwalk to Sparkman wharf, then around town, U of Tampa grounds, Harbor Island. Too tired to walk? Take the free street car. It runs from Ybor city to Franklin/whiting. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Back to St Pete. There’s the new pier. LOTS of great museums, plenty of restaurants and beautiful parks in the Vinoy area. There’s also a downtown trolley if you’re too tired to walk, the Looper. TIP: if you park in the Sundial garage in St Pete, tell the ferry people and they’ll give you a voucher that scans at the parking garage machine for free parking????
