Great new website. Book early if planning to visit Jura when events are on. £20 each way is great value as in return to the mainland you are in your car before Calmac leave Islay. Dolphins can often be seen. Buy a beer at Tayvalich Inn or the village shop and start your holiday early!

Travelled from Mallaig to Armidale with 2 elderly relatives towards the end of the year, apart from the flat calm crossing, it was a totally enjoyable experience. From the moment we arrived, the gentleman directing the traffic into the que was aware we were arriving and needed mobility assistance until we disembarked it was faultless. Catering facilities excellent for such a short crossing, spotless along with friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend

Jura Boat Tours

I am Robert and it was always my ambition to return to the beautiful place where I was brought up, the Isle of Jura. I spent 36 enjoyable years in the Military where I gained all my boat qualifications with the Royal Marines and transferred these skills to a popular 2nd career doing Rib tours on retirement. I offer bespoke Rib tours to various areas of outstanding beauty with an abundance of Wildlife found around our shores.

Kintyre Express

Kintyre Express is a fast passenger ferry that links Campbeltown in Kintyre, Ballycastle in Northern Ireland and Port Ellen on Isle of Islay. With 12 airline style seats, centrally heated cabin and ample room for free carriage of bikes, luggage and golf clubs, Kintyre Express is a popular and convenient way to go and explore these amazing destinations.

I booked the sailings from BallyCastle to Campbeltown and then back to Ireland from Port Ellen. We planned to cycle from Campbeltown to Port Ellen. This a great route for the less experiences road trip cyclists that I'd strongly recommend. The Kintyre Express is a fantastic service that opens up so many opportunities for anyone wanting to get to Scotland with their bike. Unfortunately, the usual boat suffered damage the day we were to depart Ballycastle and our sailing to Campbeltown was delayed. Where some operators might have simply cancelled the crossing Kintyre Express laid on a replacement boat just for my son and I with our bikes. More than that, because we would now arrive in Campbeltown late, they laid on transport for us with our bikes and luggage to our first destination after Campbeltown - Carradale 15 miles away - that we had intended to cycle to. This was beyond good customer service; it was first class, excellent customer service. An extra special thanks to the crew member (I'm sorry I have forgotten your name) who not only drove us to our campsite in the dark but also returned 15 minutes later to give us the tent we had left in the back of the van! Had he not done so our first night would have been a nightmare as the heaven's opened later and it was no night to have to sleep under the stars!

Calmac Ferries

They must be my favourite Scottish company, as they take me and my car to so many beautiful islands. This time it was Mull, for just £21.15 (single) for a car and 2 people, a real bargain. I came back via Ardnamurchan Peninsula Fishnish to Craignure. I have been to almost 30 Scottish islands now and each one has their own unique charm. Everyone should try and visit some of our islands, they are closer, and cheaper than you may think.

CalMac Ferries

Reviewed By BritishBlueCat

Was very easy to look-up online the ferry timetables and prices. Also we followed CalMac on Twitter so kept up to date with issues and delays. Loved the ferries, made the holiday an adventure for us. We did Colintraive to Isle of Bute return in a morning, literally a 5 min crossing. We laughed the safety instructions finished just as we docked. We also did Portavadie to Tarbert return in a day. This crossing is about 30 minutes and more exposed water so can be a little choppy, we got some sea water thrown onto the car which added to the adventure. We had no issues in September 2020 during COVID19 rocking up and boarding straight away. Can imagine peak times they get busy. The cost of ferries can add up but it’s part of the holiday experience I would recommend following them on Twitter to keep informed of issues and delays

Great tour, well worth the price you pay for it, ferry, bus, ferry/boat, then boat/ferry depending on how it works out for you, we had get the ferry to Iona then the boat to Staffa, our driver Colin is very knowledgeable about Mull & a very curteous driver, getting through the tight bridges was impressive, I didn't realise until heading back for the ferry back to Oban that I have previously worked with Colin, it was really nice to see him again & really enjoyed listening to the stories of the Isle
