PROVANS with Veronica and Nicolas is among the greatest tours we'd been. They extended their efforts to work with our schedule, picked us up at our hotel, then we had a terrific day through the Provencal countryside. We are looking forward to joining other tours by them in our next trip to the area. Or, even better is to arrange a bespoke itinerary out of the usual spots. Highly recommended!

We begin the tour with a short drive from Avignon (also available from Aix-en-Provence or Marseille) to the famous Roman aqueduct - Le Pont du Gard, spanning the Gardon river, an impressive 160ft high bridge from the 1st century regarded as one of France's most important structures from the Roman period. Next the medieval village of Villeneuve Les Avignon for a walking tour to explore the interesting and unique village and on to visit La Chartreuse de Villeneuve Les Avignon that dates from the first half of the 14th century. Commissioned by Pope Innocent VI it is a magnificent building that connects with and helps to tell the story of the Pope's of Avignon. Time for a short lunch break before we head to the famous wine growing region of Châteauneuf du Pape and visit the middle-age castle and village and wine tasting at one of the most highly regarded wineries of the region. Time permitting one last surprise stop at one of the best chocolate makers in the region before the drive back.

This is a review about our experience "so far" with Christopher and Ooh Provence. A number of months ago, as usual, I did extensive research and found a photographer and I contacted him to see about a photo experience while in Marseille. He responded immediately and then told me about his tour company which extends beyond just photography. It was perfect...a guide that could help 2 amateur photographers get some unique shots in a great city plus learn about the history at the same time. I find this is a great way to explore a city. So, of course ,I booked and paid the deposit etc. and we confirmed our date. Then along came Covid 19 and I finally had to cancel .This company offers full refund up to 24 hours in advance of tour and Christopher had no problem with an immediate refund. I will add that is not the case with some hotels etc. I am so impressed with the customer service under very extraordinary circumstances and will definitely book with Ooh Provence in the future when we can return post Covid. Based on my experience so far I am sure we will have a great time touring Marseille and the surrounding area with Christopher. I often find the true test of a good travel company is how they handle unexpected problems and can be flexible. Christopher delivers on this for sure!!
