We had such a fun day at the park and a smooth and easy transfer from Split to Zagreb. Really enjoyed our conversations with Davor and learning all about this part of Croatia. He also gave us great recommendations for good local dining in Zagreb. We can’t wait to go back and take his castle tour! ????

The day trip to the capital Ljubljana was awesome. Walking around the town center made me want to stay there for at least a few more days. The weather wasn’t that brilliant, but we saw all the main sites. The architecture, climate and landscape are so different from where I was staying on the coast. It's like visiting another country.

Nowhere in Slovenia there are so many (remains of) castles and manors as there are in the river basin of Savinja. The reasons for that can be found in several facts. Firstly it is important to stress that up to 1140 this was the centre of Savinja margraviate, that a lot of property was gained by the Carinthia Krško bishops and last but not least that a lot of noble families settled in this area. Among them, the most important were certainly the mighty counts and princes of Celje.

On the Drava Plain, surrounded by thermal springs, flourishing fields and vineyards, lies Ptuj, the oldest Slovenian town. Spontaneous and relaxed, the attractive city of Maribor has a lot to offer: from gothic and neoromantic architecture to the romantic Lent river bank. Loved it! Velenje Underground is quite an unusual experience. Having a fancy dinner 160 m below surface, combined with some artistic performance / music is really something »out of the box«. The idea behind this project was to elevate tourism in Velenje to a higher level, namely to create a memorable, 5 star experience for turists. This goes hand in hand with the vision of the tourist destination Slovenia… Slovenia as a green boutique global destination for high-end visitors seeking diverse and active experiences, peace, and personal benefits. A destination of five-star experiences.
