Ahhh. The tour not taken. I jumped on a great last minute airfare to Iceland from the US and had little time to plan, so I was panicking, a bit. I read reviews and decided to contact two tour companies, one being Hidden Iceland. They responded immediately with a detailed outline of a private tour that met EXACTLY what I asked for in terms of sights, type of accommodation, level of activity, adventure and flexibility specific to a mom traveling with teenagers. Family friends learned of our trip and decided to join us and ultimately the decision was made to self explore. However- this company’s response was very impressive and I will be envious of those who take a vacation with Hidden Iceland!

Snorkeling in a wetsuit in Iceland is something that may sound crazy but it can be one of the most rewarding things you can ever do. Hearing what our guides know and what our customers say after the tour is the reason we offer the wetsuit to you. We are the only company that offer a wetsuit and a drysuit. This allows multiple people in your group to decide what is truly the right fit for them to tailor make your day. Most people who choose the wetsuit do so because they want to be able to dive down. Therefore because of this this option is popular with scuba divers who do not have the required certifications for the drysuit scuba dive. When underwater a serene silence washes over you that can only be experienced by being under the water in a wetsuit. It is something that makes this quite possibly the best way to view the waters of Silfra, consistently over 100 metre in visibility. If you're not a particularly confident swimmer then the drysuit snorkel is an easier option for you.
Inclusions: Underwater photos, PADI Divemaster/ Instructor or equivalent, Hot chocolate, Use of Snorkelling equipment
Exclusions: Food, Clothing suitable for the weather, for example waterproofs, Swimwear and towel
Adventure Vikings is a fantastic a wonderful company. We got lost and called. They stayed on the phone with us giving us directions until we arrived at the location. Once we got there, our knowledgeable tour guide Ivan was there to help us. He had a wonderful sense of humor and full knowledge of the dive site and all the equipment. He helped everyone decided on what equipment would give them the best experience. I hate cold water and was nervous about getting claustrophobic in the dry suit. Ivan was very patient and I realized that dry suits are nothing to worry about. My daughter loves to free dive so he recommended a wet suit for her. He took beautiful photos that we are super grateful for. PS the Silfra fissure was gorgeous- incredible clean water with great visibility.

You'll arrive at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once there, you'll take a short journey through the volcanic, moss-laden fields of the park. Here, you will listen as your friendly and experienced PADI Divemaster guide. Later, you'll receive all of the necessary equipment for snorkeling in Silfra, including neoprene hoods and gloves, a thermal drysuit, snorkel and fins. The equipment will keep you buoyant throughout your time in the fissure, as well as offering a protection against the water. Once in the water, your eyes will meet the incredible shades of blue so prevalent in the fissure, as well as the natural under-water flora canyon walls. As you are swimming you will have the opportunity to swim across continents, as you will be switching back and forth from the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. After the tour GoPRO pictures will be sent to you by email for free.
Inclusions: Professional English Speaking Guide, Guided snorkeling tour in Silfra Fissure, Free GoPro photos from the tour (underwater and out of the water), Small-group guaranteed & personal experience, Certified PADI dive / Dive-master Guide for Snorkeling Tour, Drysuit and all other snorkeling equipment that will keep you warm and dry, Hot drinks and cookies after snorkeling
Exclusions: Parking fees
The snorkel tour: exciting, informative, fun fun fun! The guide, Ronan: smart, kind, strong, and sweet enough to help maneuver us into those dry suits! Exudes a magnetic calming influence like a gravitational pull :)

My wife and I were supposed to go on tour with this group on Thursday, 13/05/2021 and we recieved an email the day before stateing the tour was canceled due to covid restrictions. This is odd as there were still tour groups doing tours, and had this been the real issue they should have told us sooner than a day prior. This short notice cost us a large amount of money in setting up a tour with a different group.

If you really want to see Iceland´s raw and spectacular beauty, this day trip is one that you absolutely must take. The Icelandic South Coast is in a league of its own in regards to untamed and intimidating beauty. Drive past 3 of Icelands most powerful volcanoes, listen to stories of elves and trolls, visit a Viking lodge and experience how it is to be a true Viking. Have a Viking tasting plate full of Icelandic food and for a dinner you will have the latest catch of the day. Iceland is known for its magical landscape, glaciers, waterfalls and volcanoes. The South Coast is the most active area in Iceland volcano wise. Visit places like Seljalandsfoss waterfall and walk behind it. Look up the hidden treasure underneath Skógafoss waterfall and go to see where Game Of Thrones was filmed. What a tour and what a day this will be.
Inclusions: Dinner, Icelandic spirit, Viking tasting plate
Exclusions: Lunch
We where picked up at Bust stop one in the centre of Reykjavik by a very pleasant young lady ('The German girl'), Faye I think is her name. On time. The whole trip was great fun and our guide/driver was funny, engaging, accommodating and a safe driver. We drove through snow storms that we had never experienced before (we are from Australia) and we never felt like we were in any danger. The sights were pretty quite as far as other tourists are concerned, due to COVID-19 which was rather nice. The farm visit was awesome - food for vegetarians was an option - and our host there was great and provided us with a very interesting bit of history for the local area and their family business (hope they are still managing with all the restrictions). I recommend this trip for anybody as the walking was easy and the bus comfortable.

Our horses are friendly and sure-footed and suitable for everyone, beginners and experts alike. Riding the Icelandic horse in its natural environment is something everyone should try at least once in the lifetime. Our tours depart from the stables in Vík and take us along the beautiful black sand beach. In the summer time, puffins may be flying high above us and the view of the Reynisdrangar sea stacks is always an eyesight. Our tours are easygoing and aim to let you discover the area and our horses at a calm pace, perfectly suited for beginners. If you are up for trying out the unique gait of the Icelandic horse, tölt, you will get a chance to try that as well!
Inclusions: Helmet, Rain gear, Gloves, Icelandic horse

What a great time! Super patient guides. We had four people with varying degrees of experience and they made everyone comfortable and confident. They were clear on what to expect, how to work as a team with your horse and laid out every step. Very kind people and beautiful horses and scenery. I also needed to switch my booking since the road was closed and they were super accommodating!
