This eleven day tour begins in Sibiu, the "capital" of Transylvania. As we embark on our road trip throughout Transylvania we will visit a fairy-tale castle, several fortified and wooden churches, immerse ourselves in a rural Roma (gypsy) village, spend two nights in the rural north Maramures region of Romania visiting the unusual Merry Cemetery and also a communist prison, several UNESCO World Heritage sites, and walking tours.
