The entire surrounding area of Golden Temple Complex starting from its approaching roads is clean and tidy and the people visiting the Temple are well guided throughout its entry and exit. There are more than adequate facilities for keeping luggage, footwear, washing hands, etc.that there is no pushing or pulling of people at any place. The people are very much disciplined, pious, helpful, and understand the difficulties faced by children, senior citizens, and differently-abled persons. Though most of the instructions are written in Punjabi script the announcements are made in Hindi and as such, no problem is faced by nonPunjabi understanding people. The atmosphere is serene, quiet, religious, brotherhoodly, and totally of PEACE and BLISS.

We started at Amritsar and had a 4 day tour and stayed in Dharamshala- Jawalamukhi. Anandpur Sahib and visited many places in between. First of all the price was honest, no hidden costs. And since we decided to visit an extra temple which wasn’t planned neither on the route, the cost were communicated before so no surprises at the end. The thing I always appreciate the most is the flexibility. During the journey it got really dark and there was heavy rainfall even roads flooded. So we decided to stay where we were at that time, which wasn’t planned. So i always suggest not to pay for hotels on forhand but just make a reservation. Looking for a good hotel went smooth and our driver, who was actually the owner (jasbir singh ), was extremely helpfull. Actually within a few moments he became a true friend. He made our journey so pleasant! Because he didn’t solely drove us to our destination but also guided us to interesting places. Told us historical facts. Brought us to hidden gems like Haveli. And even let us try the best streetfood! We have been to India several times and had many drivers, but this journey was the most wonderfull by far!

Start through the narrow bazaars of Amritsar, we will go to the main Bazaar Called Guru Bazaar, a market where you can find all the stuff related to Punjabi weddings, here we will stop by the shop of Itter (Essence) and will feel the fragrance of hand made perfumes and incense sticks. Walking through these lanes, we will reach the main road to the cloth market, where we will see the colorful attires of Punjab culture. The main costumes include Phulkari, Patiala Suit, for women and Kurta Pajama for men, which goes perfect with Punjabi Jutti, the traditional footwear for men and women. Talking about the souvenirs, we cannot forget the food of Amritsar, which is Papad, English poppadom according to your spice tolerance, low, mild, extreme or Amritsari level, yes we do love spicy food. Heading towards new markets we will visit Ram Bagh market, where we will find Aam Papad, dry mango pulp. With this, our tour for souvenirs comes to an end at Ram Bagh Gate.
