My boy and myself can never forget the warm welcoming friendship and the delicious food delicately prepared by Keiko San and Taka San... My first visit was in Sept. We wanted to have an authentic Japanese experience even though we visited Tokyo several times. Went for it and absolutely loved it...It is definitely an experience never to be missed! And just a month later, knowing that I am visiting Japan in Dec, I immediately contacted Taka san in Oct as I remember our chat that they love bakuteh and chicken rice from Singapore, so I’m going to bring them those goodies! Without further hesitation, Taka San and Keiko san invited us to their home again. My boy is so happy with the invitation and can’t wait to see them in Dec! We met in Dec and there was so much memories from the first visit. The good chat along the peaceful relaxed route while walking to their home, the great smiles from the couple, the warm deco of the house, the delicious chef-cooked cuisine! We chatted a lot during dinner, learned new things about our families and had our matcha tea sessions! This is not something that you will get from other activities that you may find...*from my heart* Incredible friendships built within a day or even just a few hours! Taka san and family are kind-hearted people who treat visitors like family and connect people with open conversations. We learn and we grow. Team TAKA, we are one! Ps: next trip bringing my parents over for sure! (Resending using the right profile)

Kamakura is a must-visit town for any foreign visitor coming to Japan and it can be easily reached from Tokyo on a 60-mn train journey. Very convenient especially if you are JR Pass holder. We started the journey with our guide, who was waiting for us @the lobby of our hotel and kindly guided us through the bustling morning Japanese metro system. Visiting Kamakura was like going through different emotions and living exceptional experiences depending on the sites visited. The Hase-Dera temple, Kotokuin area, the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu temple and the Kamakura street market (where original flavoured peanuts were sold like those strawberries, mulberries, okonomyaki, wasabi, takoyaki flavours) were amazing venues that have their own spirit and atmosphere and imprint unforgettable memories on the visitors. Our guide helped us to know more about the religious, political and social history of Kamakura. We hope to be back again in the fulture to explore more the seaside and spend one day @Kamakura. Thank you so much to our guide who was very kind and helpful (she guided us through the Toranomon Hills metro station after the end of our tour) and professional. Best wishes to her.

8. REAL, All-Inclusive Tokyo Food and Drink Adventure (leave the tourists behind)

Ōimachi Station, 1 Chome-1 Ōi, Shinagawa City, Tokyo 140-0014, Japan Pinpoint Traveler

Ready for a small group (5 max.) Tokyo food tour that takes you deeper than what the Shinjuku or Shibuya areas can provide? Come with us and leave the canned, prefab tourist run behind, and instead get yourself a look into how locals unwind after work, all with nary a tourist in sight. Over the course of our 3-ish hours together, we'll visit three different standing bar restaurants (known as "tachinomi" in Japanese), which could roughly be depicted as bustling tapas places. There will be plenty of food, just in case the "bar" part makes you think otherwise.  We spread our tachinomi visits across two different neighborhoods, with a 6 minute train ride between the two. Adjunct to the tachinomi odyssey is a slightly more anthropological one, covering a bounty of cultural sights and topics, from nightlife to grocery shopping and more. With food, three drinks, and train fare included, you won't need to spend a single, shiny yen this carefree night.

Inclusions: Dinner, Beverages (a total of 3 alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages), On-tour transportation, Alcoholic Beverages

Exclusions: Hotel pickup and drop-off

Kevin was awesome. Professional, knowledgeable, and gave us the perfect experience. Easily would’ve taken us 3 days to visit the sites on our own... and we certainly would not have had the context provided from the tour. With COVID a continuing concern, having a vehicle to transport us around instead of hopping on and off a dozen+ trains and busses, was a comforting benefit. Will use this service again when other family comes out to visit Japan in the future.
