Tasting oysters just harvested from the ocean is significantly different and better than eating them at an oyster bar. Freshness counts! This is a sea kayaking tour that teaches you the basics of sea kayaking on land before launching at Mere Point in Brunswick to visit a working oyster farm in NW Casco Bay!  After visiting the oyster farm, we'll stop on an island for a stretch break, tasting, and shoreline exploring. Learn about aquaculture in Maine and how it improves the health of the bays. Sea kayaking is an easy, fun way to sight see from the water.  We often see different kinds of sea gulls, cormorants, black and mallard ducks, eider ducks, great blue herons, snowy egrets, osprey and bald eagles. If we are lucky, we will see a seal. Paddlers of all ages will love exploring Casco Bay in this protected, scenic, historic area! No experience is needed. Single and double kayaks are used on this eco-guided tour by a Master Maine Guide.

Inclusions: Professional Master Maine Guide, Local Guide, Sea kayak (single or double), paddle, life jacket and safety gear, Fresh Oysters on the half shell for tasting with sauce choices.

Exclusions: Gratuities

Alice is so wonderful and responsible. I was a bit nervous to try sea kayaking but it was so special and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again with Alice. We plan to have more adventures with her in the future as she offers different programs.

We were on a cruise and wanted a food tour, which wasn’t offered by the cruise line. We always check TripAdvisor for reviews and found this one highly recommended. The reviews were right on. The first food offering was lobster roll and blueberry coffee cake . The lobster roll was the best we’d ever had and we’ve had many in different states. The cake was also yummy. We then had good chicken wings at a bar and grill, and then a panini at a soup and sandwich shop. We received a little bag of popcorn with two flavors, which was good but we were quite full by that point. The olive oil store was our last stop and may be more interesting to those who haven’t already been to several as we have. Very informative commentary there though. The gentleman who was our guide(sorry forgot his name) was very nice and friendly. We will do the tour again if back in Bar Harbor.

The day we went was so foggy you could barely see anything. The Park Ranger saved the day tho...he was very friendly and informative. Even tho the visibility was horrendous the captain of the boat really did try to get us as close to shore as possible, so we could see something. It may have been better if the weather was nicer. I just wasn't impressed on this terrible day that's why I gave it 3 stars. The captain and the Park Ranger did save the day tho. Getting off on the island was unremarkable as it was late in the season and the only place to eat was closed and there is really nothing to do there but walk around.

Truly an AMAZING experience. Went aboard with my family and they had a blast. Every member of the crew made an effort to ask us something about ourselves and tell us something about themself as well, it really made the whole journey more personal for it was like sailing with friends then a group of strangers. There was also more then plenty of hand sanitizer on board, on top of the ship being super clean and in tip top shape.
