A little extra chunk of Russia stuck between Lithuania and Poland on the Baltic Sea, Kaliningrad was known as Königsberg from its founding by the Teutonic Knights in the 13th century until after World War II. It was renamed, repopulated with Russians and became part of the Soviet Union. Today, as it has been for centuries, it’s known for amber products, with most of the world’s harvestable amber still lying off its coast. The 14th century Königsberg Cathedral is a main city attraction.

I booked a private tour with this company in September 2019 before the lockdown. Olga was my guide for the day and I advised her in advance of my interest in WW2 history and she emailed me with a suggested itinerary. As a UK citizen i needed a visa in advance and the company helped me with this. I caught the bis from Gdansk ( i think they have a youtube video to watch). Crossing the border is interesting to say the least but the bus waits until everyone has passed through security Olga met me at the bus station and we spent the day seeing the sights I had requested to see Olga was a fantastic guide and her English is excellent Kalingingrad is a very interesting city however its a must to have a guide unless you are a Russian speaker Highly recommended

This museum chronicles the final battle for Konigsberg (Kaliningrad) in early 1945. The displays are informative and the visit is enhanced since the underground bunker itself played an important role in the battle.

My travel guide in Petersburg, Dasha, was excellent in showing around places. She made sure that I get to see all places well within the time frame for this tour. She had good knowledge about the place and made sure that I gain knowledge about the culture rich city of Petersburg. She was kind enough to recommend places that I can consider seeing after I'm done with the tour.

We booked for the Swan Lake ballet on 25 December 2019, with travel date on 24 May 2020, through U Visit Russia. . Due to the Covit19 pandemic we were unable to visit Russia nor attend the ballet. Two tickets were purchased for US$465.50. U Visit Russia was advised of not being able to attend and agreed to pay a full refund but there would be a delay due to the number of cancellations. After some time no refund was forthcoming and U Visit Russia was again contacted by email and we were advised that due to the volume of cancellations the refund would be credited to our credit card within 9 weeks. Nothing and again they were contacted by email but no response was ever received. No refund was ever received. Nothing!! The lesson is to beware of ever dealing with this company.
