This region lies in the midst of Langtang and Everest range. The major highlights of this trek are the captivating sights of both Mount Langtang and Mount Everest. Trekkers will also be rewarded with the enchanting views of the majestic Mount Gauri Shanker (7134m). This trek begins from Shigati, a small township near Charikot, an eleven-hour drive from Kathmandu. The trail following the course of river Tamakoshi on the way to Simigaon adds more thrills to the trek. The high glacial lake Tsho Rolpa is also a sight to behold.

I did the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek and it was very impressive! One of the most beautiful experiences I had in my life. The lake, the view and changing landscapes are breathtaking. The team is very serious and welcoming, it was a real pleasure working with them. We had Ganesh as a guide, who I can only strongly recommend. He is very very nice and always looked greatly after us.
Janakpur Nepal is known for the famous for Janaki Temple (or also known as Janaki Mandir), which was once the the palace for the lovebird – Goddess Sita and Lord Rama. Famously known as the “Classic trek to Everest”, Jiri to Everest trek has been preferred by many hardcore trekkers from decades ago. It was believed to be the original route to Everest. Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay also embarked on their quest to climb Mount Everest from this trail as well. Starting from Jiri, which lies in the Dolakha district of Nepal, this Jiri to Everest trek takes you deep into the hills, forest, gorges and river banks leading directly to the base camp of the roof of the world. Jiri is the home of an ethnic group called the Jirels and Sherpa. It is one of the classic treks of Nepal which provides an opportunity to experience a true and authentic Sherpa culture with spectacular views of the Everest range.

Having come to Nepal for the first time in my life after 48 years, I had no expectations whatsoever. All I had in mind is to have time for myself, with myself, experience the mountains around Everest, glaciers and some tough trek. Needless to say I got what I wish for and much, much more. From the local cuisine I had daily (not the western dishes they obviously are accustomed to preparing for tourists), the Long walks (up and down though mostly I remember the upward slopes), the amazing views of this remote part of the planet, mighty mountains covered in snow and the very (extremely) cold weather at night, even indoors. Yet in some way felt quite purifying for both body and soul. The people that took me in the out (Tek, porter and Sudip, the guide) were incredible, they made me feel at home, taking care of me at all times to make sure I stayed safe and happy (given this time of Covid the number of tourists were minimal and yet felt at all times taken care of and never alone, except when I so wanted). I would recommend it for the people who want to feel an adventure, who want to see the wild, who want to feel humbled by the sheer size of these mountains, fresh air and water, icy/snowy tracks, astonishing glaciers, who want to get lost a bit from life and come out stronger, both physically and mentally for whatever challenge may be waiting for them around the corner on their daily lives. In summary it is a trip more to the inside than to the outside but requiring a lot of physical strength and commitment to complete this trip. I just finished it yesterday and feel quite accomplished. I think I will return with my some and wife at some point in my life, as it is something it is (now in retrospect) better to be shared than showed in pictures which will never reflect the feelings of actually being part of it. Are you upo for it? Apparently I was ;-)
The inflow of tourists around this area is all around the year for its excellent mountain views and pilgrimage purpose whereas for the snow tourists visit Kalinchowk during the last week of December to last week of February when the chance of snowfall is high in this area. From the top of Kalinchowk Bhagwati temple, you will view various snow-capped mountains like Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Jugal Himal, Gauri Shankar etc.. It is better to walk than using cable car as No other hiking experiences near Kathmandu valley come close to hike to Kalinchowk from Kuri village during the time of snowfall. You will pass through stone stupa- like commemorative structures which were built by the local people of Kuri village (mainly Sherpa, Tamang and brahmin) in memory of their ancestors. Trip to Kalinchowk is an overnight tour package where you will be spending a night in Kuri village.
Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Private transportation, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner as mentioned in the itinerary., Driver’s salary, fuel cost, parking charges and allowance., Entry permit of GCAP. (Gauri Shankar Conservation Area)
Exclusions: Personal expenses., Overstay due to any natural calamities/strikes., Cost of a cable car ride., Services that isn’t mentioned above.
