According to the Ancient Greeks, the god Hephaestus used Isolo Vulcano as sort of his own private blacksmith shop. Here you can clamber up volcanoes like Scalata al Cratere and rejuvenate in the warm and gooey sulfur mud baths of Laghetto di Fanghi. Kayaking is a popular way to take in the beauty of Vulcano’s grottoes and coastlines.

Did you know that volcanoes are named after this island? The archipelago is listed among the UNESCO World Heritage because of its incredible volcanic activity, easily observable thanks to a pleasant walk on the Gran Cratere della Fossa, which constantly emits sulfur gases.

Fábio gave us a tour of the places where iconic scenes from The Godfather movies were filmed. It was just me and my Father so he tailored the tour to what we wanted to see and do. His English is excellent, super knowledgeable and explains things very clearly. We learnt lots and had a really good time. Took pictures for us, dropped us off for a few hours in Taormina for lunch then picked us up and took us to a few extra places to take some pictures before coming back down to Catania. He also recommended THE BEST pizzaria we've been to. Very flexible and offers all sorts of tours and trips, just let him know what you need/want! (sometimes even airport transfers) This is his company he is running with his colleague, and he was born and raised in Sicilly, so very passionate and loves his job. Would highly recommend to literally anyone who comes to Sicilly.

Valle Muria and the Faraglioni, the caves and the beautiful coves of Lipari; Grotta del cavallo, Piscina di Venere, Gelso and Spiaggia dell'asino, the hidden caves of Vulcano ... are among the most beautiful spots that we will explore sailing under the coast. If desired, we will stop ashore on the island of Vulcano, where you can have lunch, visit the town or take a bath in the famous sulphurous mud. Eoliana is a splendid mahogany boat, romantic and elegant, ideal for sailing below the coast; 8.50 meters long, 2.50 meters wide, it has ample cushions in the bow and a convivial and shady table at the stern. The experienced and professional crew, always attentive to your privacy. The boat is equipped with a ladder to the sea, large cushions, awning anti UV, beach towels, snorkeling kit and games for the little ones. Always on offer Natural and sparkling water, seasonal fruit, bruschetta and an ice-cold bottle of wine to drink.

We had a wonderful day sailing around lipari and volcano. Just us and our wonderful skipper. Everything provided - a bottle of wine and lots of fruit. I can't speak highly enough of it. Made our holiday. Thanks so much.

We had a very nice day doing a boat trip to Salina with Captain Giovanni. It’s not easy to choose an option in Lipary, as the offer is huge, but I don’t think we could have made a better decision. The boat is very nice and was comfortable for us (there were only two more couples at our party). He is a nice and easy going person who understood that we enjoyed jumping from the boat so much to swim on the crystal clear waters that he allowed many stops for swimming and snorkeling on amazing spots along the beautiful west coast of Lipary. He loves what he does and enjoys sharing his passion for his home island and the sea. It has been a pleasure to meet Captain Giovanni. I will definitely recommend his company to our friends.

Based on recent reviews we booked this trip VERY trepidatiously – it was the only departure that was convenient for us and we braced ourselves for a really hectic experience. In the event, the boat was about two thirds empty and there was no scrum to get on or off. We saw other boats offering similar departures that were really busy so I think it's just the luck of the draw in terms of how busy your boat is. The boat left and arrived on time from each of its departure points and the commentary was really useful as well as being crystal clear in terms of when the next departure was. The islands are absolutely beautiful and sitting for around an hour watching Stromboli erupt was a unique experience, and €50 per adult (our four year old travelled free) is really good value. FWIW, we were told that parking in Milazzo hasn't been policed for the last five years so you can park in any spot that isn't marked in yellow (handicapped spots). We parked in a two hour spot and returned to our car that evening with no problems. Also consider taking ginger tablets of some kind of seasickness medication as even waters that look calm can end up a little choppy. Sit on the boat's lower levels for a more comfortable ride!

On this full-day, 10-hour tour, depart from Cefalù and make way to the Aeolian Islands: a volcanic archipelago off the northern coast of Sicily that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a coach journey to Milazzo, take a yacht to the island of Lipari, where you’ll go on a tour of its archaeological sites before wandering through the island’s main town; afterwards, you’ll head to Vulcano, an island famous for its thermal attractions. The tour will conclude in the late afternoon, after you return to Milazzo and board a coach back to Cefalù.
Inclusions: Professional guide, Hotel pickup and drop-off (select hotels only), Air-conditioned vehicle
Exclusions: Entrance fees (€ 1,50 per person), Lunch
If I could have selected an option of zero I would have chosen that. 1 is too kind. This ‘private’ boat excursion is basically €80 (not €75 as you have to pay a shed load of tax) to get a 2 hour bus ride then you are stuffed onto a packed ferry full of angry tourists who have been sold the dream but in reality, it was a nightmare. The islands are ugly, busy and I simply have nothing good to report. You are left to your own devices and any swimming options are limited/poor. The ‘food’ in the port areas are all fatty/greasy tourist muck and not Sicilian cuisine. It’s just naff and utterly unenjoyable. I beg you to take this all in, otherwise you will lose a day of your holiday. D O N ‘T DO IT!!! Regards, Ilana, 35, London

Great couple of hours taking part in Italian cooking! See as it was during Covid-19, my partner and I were the only participants. We were greeted by Luca and offered coffee while they prepared the kitchen for us. We helped make bread, learnt how to make macaroni and of course, pizza! we had 2 breaks - and at each, we ate what we made and had a litre of house wine! The macaroni was made into '"pasta alla norma'' and it was my favourite dish of the course. They even emailed us the recipes after. I highly recommend doing this class, it's a cool way to experience with locals.

Although the owner was pleasant, he seemed to have limited knowledge/information about the wines. The Sicilian dishes supposed to be paired were a piece of bread with sundried tomatoes on it and a fish ball - that’s it, nothing else. Not paired with wines as advertised and no other food or nibbles, again as advertised in the pictures. The wines were nice but but barely a mouthful. Once the restaurant started getting busy we were ignored so just left. Really not worth the money as we walked to a nearby bar a bought a bottle of similar quality wine for €22 and got free snacks!!
