We did 2 trips with Southcoast Adventure - Katla Ice Cave and Wildcard Adventure. Hokur and Villi were our guides & drivers during the Katla Ice Cave trip. The trip was short but eventful and intense, the blizzard showed us how's the weather in the uninhabited part of Iceland. The guides drove us in 3 superjeeps from the village of Vik to the Katla Ice cave. If you want to see the cave, you must go there in the next 2 years, because is shrinking and melting away. But it was a memorable trip, we made a lot of photos and videos. Stefan was our guide & driver in the other trip - Wildcard Adventure. He picked us up in a stormy day from Vik, while the roads were closed. He showed us Landeyjasandur black beach, Seljalandsfoss, Eyafjallajokull (we went close to the top of the glacier with a superjeep) and Thorsmork Valley. After that, he dropped us off in Reykjavik. We recommend future travellers this company and these tours.

We enjoyed a lot, it was amazing and Hilmar was a fantastic guide, explaining everything we wanted to know, answering all our questions and keeping silence when he knows silence is a good way to appreciate what you are sorrounded by. We noticed he knows very well Icelnad, not only the paths but the cultural, scientis and enviromental points as well. This is one of the excursion we are always going to remember. We visited places that made us feel part of the movie Lord of the Rings or Narnia. Places where we wouldn't have gone on our own.

This tour is one of our all time favorites! Eyjafjallajökull is the famous glacier that erupted in 2010 causing massive flight problems all over Europe. We drive up the slopes of the glacier in a highly equipped 4x4 Super Jeep and on our way take in the astonishing view over the whole South coast of Iceland, including the Westman-Islands. This tour gives you the perfect glacier experience; an exciting Super Jeep drive in the snow, walk on the glacier and the magnificent view over the south. **We always try to fit our trips to our guests needs and wishes**

On this classic tour we‘ll drive The Golden Circle and take in all its awe and beauty! We‘ll visit Þingvellir national park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss the queen of all Icelandic waterfalls. We'll walk the beautiful Þingvellir National Park and UNESCO Heritage site. The scenery is amazing no matter the weather! We'll get a close look at how the tectonic plates drifted apart and on where the first settlers of Iceland founded the world´s oldest parliament Althingi (Alþingi) in the year 930. We then continue to the geysers area with the famous Geysir which all other geysers are named after. Here we’ll see the lively geyser Strokkur erupt roughly every 5-10 minutes and reach a height up to 25 meters along with observing the other geothermal features of the area. From there we'll head up to Gullfoss waterfall, which many Icelander´s call the Queen of all Waterfalls!

If you don’t get wet, it is no fun according to Addi, our guide of the trip. And he is absolutely right: the day started rainy all over the country. But as soon as we reached the Thorsmörk area, it turned out to be one of the most beautiful days of our whole trip. The sun came out and created a special light that even Addi was impressed. Luckily our 6 person tour turned out to be a private tour due to COVID times. Addi was fantastic: he kept us informed all the time, while getting us to this fascinating place. We went to the Thorsmörk area, we hiked up a mountain to have a good view, and we ended up in getting very wet shoes as we hiked up to some hidden waterfalls. The water level was way higher than expected, but getting our shoes totally soaked was so worth it! So, we definitely recommend going on a tour with Midgard Adventures, you will enjoy every single second! Addi, thank you so much for this great day! We enjoyed it a lot, and it was definitely one of our highlights of our 2,5 weeks trip through Iceland. And also thank you for your hospitality in letting us use the Midgard basecamp facilities.

We’ve made this hike few weeks ago and it was one of the greatest experience we’ve ever had. The landscapes, the trip and the scenarios were breathtaking. Special mention to our guide Stephan, very careful and skilled, he created a special atmosphere and told us many interesting informations during the hike. At the end they also prepared us an unattended surprise (we don’t want to reveal ????). Also, a technical note: we booked for 4 people but one of us couldn’t come and they refund us for his ticket without any problem. P.s. we wait for Stephan to come in Italy (Umbria especially) to taste our prosciutto and all the others specialities!
