Target of the excursion is to show the different kind of masseria located between Ostuni and Fasano and the key role the still have in Puglia’s economic and social scenario. Danieli gave us an extraordinarily beautiful and wonderful tour around parts of Puglia. He has a fantastic knowledge of the local history and personalities. He showed us amazing sites that are not on the tourist or any other map and that only the most exacting local knowledge would make you discover and took us to restaurants and cafes frequented only by locals. Danieli speaks not just with authority but with passion to make our trip both interesting and uplifting. He is fluent in English and Spanish, as well of course as Italian, and his warm personality made it very easy to communicate with him.

The paths through the olive groves are truly wonderful and the history along the way is quite fascinating. Some of the olive trees are very old and were planted by the Romans! Daniele is very passionate about the area and the history. He brought us to a family owned Masseria to try and purchase some cheese. We stopped along the way for Daniele to point out special features and visited historic and working olive mills. Daniele is super nice, his English is great and he is very accomodating! The tour ended with a beautiful red sunset. We enjoyed the tour so much, we rented bikes for another day. Must do when you want to combine some activity with exploring the region and history of it!
