At the westernmost point of the African continent, Dakar stands as a multicultural, diverse city full of vibrant arts and traditions. Residents from various ethnic groups present assorted crafts, foods, jewelry, fabrics and wood and metal goods at bustling markets such as Marche Sandaga or Marche HLM. The city is home to museums and mosques, cliff walks and beaches, and makes a convenient jumping point for excursions to any of Senegal's national parks and nature reserves.

We had Mika Guisse as our tour guide during our entire 2021 Senegal and The Gambia trip. He was magnificent. He is so knowledgeable, patient and informative. He made sure our group got to experience so much more than what we would have on our own or with another tour guide. He got us to Goree Island, Kunta Kinteh Island, a Fulani Village where we were welcomed and got to meet the Chief, The Museum of Black Civilization, The Renaissance Monument, Senegalese wrestling, ATV riding and so much more. He even took us to the clinic to get our mandatory COVID-19 test which was needed to travel between Senegal and The Gambia and then back to the clinic to get the test again which was needed to travel back to the US. And the cost for the test was so inexpensive, we really got a bargain. He also took us to the marketplace to do some last minute shopping before our flights back home. We felt so safe with Mika because everywhere we went, everyone knew and respected him. Our group nicknamed Mika the Mayor of Dakar. Any questions you have about anything in Senegal or The Gambia, Mika is the best person for answers. Do yourself a favor and book with Mika and his team.

The Bandia wildlife reserve is a real ecological jewel in the crown of Senegal. It has succeeded in reintroducing much of the marvellous native flora and of some of Africa’s best loved animals. Many of which had gradually disappeared, some of them centuries ago, due to demographic pressure and poaching. With the exception of the big carnivores, you will be able to see most of the best-known African animals: white rhinoceros, zebra, giraffe, buffalo, giant eland, Cape eland, Oryx, roan antelope, waterbuck, western Buffon’s cob, greater kudu, nyalas, impalas, damas gazelle, red fronted gazelle, warthog, patas monkey, green vervet monkey, jackal, mongoose, crocodiles, giant tortoise, ostrich, and many more, as well as over 120 species of bird.

We loved our time with Eric!! He was very knowledgeable about Senegalese cultural and history. His ultimate goal is for you to leave knowing the absolute most you can about Senegal. He maximizes his time with you during the tour and his yearning desire is that you leave knowing more than you did before. We enjoyed the fact that our money was well invested on Eric's tour. If you want to truly learn about Senegalese culture and west African history, we highly recommend you hire Eric as your tour guide.????????

Private tour in comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced and licensed guide and a driver. Some of the most impressive sites in Senegal are the water bodies. If you have the chance to visit only one lake in Senegal, without a doubt, it should be Lac Retba. The pink color of this lake is due to the effect of the algae Dunaliella salina. Lots of tourists come here and you shouldn't miss this opportunity.

The trip to the museum and the Renaissance monument were outstanding. Although I was a bit reluctant to climb the 210 stairs....I did it...I felt so proud of myself as I came down the 210(420) total....I would have enjoyed more time at the museum...but I do plan for another trip to Senegal. We toured not only the tourist spots, but we explored the food and cultures of the people. The tour was really and enrichment for me. Our trip was in March 2020 pre-Covid

I have done at least 5 of such adventures in Asia including Malaysia and Thailand but this was a different experience First you are on your own to fix up everything yourself which is actually good . You slow down to think and be more careful instead. It’s very safe as the gadgets do not allow to be unlocked when one is not attached. In addition, We had a detailed briefing followed by a trial on low grounds before setting off. Two stations required participant to walk across the cable which was scary especially with winds blowing and the cables start to sway. Swaying on cable perched high in the air was scary but enjoyable. We also tried climbing the baobab tree which was unique experience. I really recommend this.
