10 Tours in Cocorna That You Shouldn't Miss

Day 1: Mount the bikes and off we go towards “La Manuela” a bombed out finca that once belonged to Pablo Escobar. You can still see the double walls where he hid drugs and money and find out about him in a 45-min tour. After we will ride down the plataeu on the autopista, with stops for lunch and spectacular views. After about 4 hours of riding we will get to the infamous Hacienda Nápoles where we will stay the night. Day 2: After breakfast its Safari time. On the bikes and lets go check out Escobar’s animal collection including a large population of hippos. Some of them have broken free after Hacienda Napoles was abandoned and now Colombia has a big hippo population. Depending on how much time we will spend here we can head to the waterpark after or to the museums. After lunch we will slowly make our way over dirt and paved roads though eastern Antioquia and back up 1000 m to the lake and Guatapé.

After getting familiar with the bikes and our gear, we head out on to the curvy mountain roads surrounding Guatape. Over paved and dirt roads we will make our way to Pablo Escobar’s bombed out Finca “La Manuela” where we get a short tour and gain insight into his life and how he affected those around him and the country. We will keep cruising at high speed via the autopista towards the magnificent valley of Cocorná where paragliding and lunch awaits us. After lunch we will head back towards Guatape through curvy mountain roads and late afternoon views of the lake and the rock.

Our Intermediate Rafting trip takes you to the Rio Calderas, located just 2 hours east of Medellin. We pick you up at our offices or at your own doorstep, and everything is included for the day. You don't need any previous experiences, but even the most experienced rafters will have fun on this river! The trips starts with a coffee and a short 4*4 ride to the river, and a safety talk. Then, we head down stream! Enjoy over 3 hours of great whitewater ( class 3/4) and enjoy the stunning ambiance of the jungle!
