10 Tours in Baguio That You Shouldn't Miss

August 30, 2021 Russell Mellin

Baguio, perched high in the Cordillera Central Mountains, is a great place to escape the heat of the Philippine lowlands. Camp John Hay, originally built as a recreation area for U.S. soldiers, now is a full-fledged resort complete with a world-class golf course. Definitely stop at the city market, where you can buy almost anything (just be prepared to haggle).

Let us wander around Vigan and Laoag. Vigan is a component city and capital of the province of Ilocos Sur. See the Philippines centuries ago when the country was still under the Spaniards. This city is unique because it is considered to be the most extensive and old surviving historic city in the country that is still preserved up until now. Book this tour with me to experience a city that's one of a kind. The food in Vigan is interesting too as they have their own delicacy. We will then visit Laoag where you will be taken on a sand dunes tour and you can try sand boarding.

I only rated Very Good because the gateway to these paradise Islets were not being taken cared of when my team went their on October 2018. The LGU/community at the entrance seems wanting in the management of wastes. You can see various types of wastes scattered around when walking to the beach. The silts when you trudge the seawater is an indicator of rotten biodegradable materials or eroded lands from the hilltops.

My friends and I went to Boracay way back May 2019 to celebrate my birthday. Was looking for an adventure that we can enjoy. Then I came across this diving at Ariel's point for whole day. I didn't regret doing this as activity as we really had a good time. We went to the meeting point in the morning, went on a boat ride for half an hour. On-board we had unlimited drinks of soda, liquor and beers which is really cool! when we arrived at the area we were given instructions by the staff. You can dive from 5m, 10m or 15m. And if you get tired from jumping or don't feel doing it you may, paddle boarding and kayaking. The location also was secluded and very clean!

I was travelling as a solo female and JB and his team put together a custom-made tour based on the places I wanted to see. From start to finish I was very well looked after, given additional experiences that I would not have thought of doing and felt very safe during the whole trip. The highlights for me were the caves tour and Rice Terraces/Waterfall walk in Sagada but the whole trip was amazing and I would recommend JB!
