The couple (and their adorable dog) were very friendly from our reservation to our departure. Breakfast was plentiful. Our room with en-suite bathroom was impeccable. Our kitchen was being changed in Vaux sur Mer. Should we ever have more guests than we can fit into our house, we will send them to Melisandre. Excellent value for money. And a big thank you!

This is a beautiful home with lovely rooms that are all furnished just a bit quirky. Delightful host and good French breakfast. Also dog friendly. All in all a lovely stay. My comments relate to the surrounding area which is a residential area below the city walls. Firstly it can be tricky to park as it is on street parking but I am given to understand it is not usually a problem. Next is food. For an evening meal, at least on a Monday, nowhere nearby is open and so it was a half hour walk back up the hill in the dark to find anywhere open. Again most were closed on a Monday evening. So if you are visiting on a Monday be aware.

‘We had an incredible time at the Domaine des Granges. Probably the best gîte we’ve stayed in, in France. The only thing I’m sad about is that we were unable to stay longer, as they were fully booked for the rest of the Summer. Antoine is the perfect owner who clearly puts his guests and their needs first, aswell as maintaining this fantastic property on a daily basis. We will be back!’

Etang Vallier Resort offers villa holidays to suit all tastes and pockets. From the budget-conscious family to those seeking a little more luxury - there is something to suit everyone. The villas are set in an informal woodland setting close to a picturesque lake with a small beach. A perfect getaway.
We stayed three days to rest and visit the region. House are perfect. Big and clean with everything. Beds are good. We enjoyed the lake and the pool and brossac has a nice restaurant with a good baileys coffee.

A great base to explore this beautiful island. Nice swimming pool and good bike hire on site. Don’t bother paying for a sauna visit, it is set at 42 degrees, half the temperature it should be. Close to the beach and number of restaurants within walking distance.

Returned in Résidence La Palmeraie for the eight consecutive summer. Despite the difficult conditions this year, the responsibles of the residency took all the necessary precautions to provide the guests with the best possible time of their life. Everything clean! The pool was excellently cleaned and desinfected on a daily basis. We will surely return to one of the best spots in France!

We stayed here on our way down to the South and again on our return to Dieppe. The rooms are comfortable and en suite, with good water pressure for the shower. Jeremy is a very friendly and welcoming host. It is worth having dinner here as Jeremy is a good cook, however, this has to be booked separately. An all inclusive deal is sometimes available and is good value for money. The B&B is set in extensive grounds and the vegetables are sourced from the garden. It is set in countryside but not too far from town so does not feel isolated. Highly recommended.

We stayed for a couple of nights in this very lovely place. Friendly hosts, clean, quiet and close to "everything". A warm welcome, an appartement with well equipped kitchen and separate bedroom, a nice place to eat outdoors - I recommend this place to anyone who want to enjoy Ile d'Oleron!

What a delightful place, the hosts Lyndsey and Noel were great, they can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. We felt that we made 2 new friends in our life. This is a B&B with a touch of home, the rooms are beautifully decorated and dressed with lovely bedding. We splashed out and booked the studio that was tremendous and worth paying the extra, It even had our own little garden space to chill. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night and really didn't want to leave. The Breakfast is delightful and very fresh ( the chocolate orange bread is amazing ) I can recommend booking for the evening meal it was good food at an affordable price and the bonus of only having to walk a few yards to your table Don't be put off by the 2 beautiful dogs they are so gentle and loving We will be back as soon as we can and I am hoping to get some of my girlfriends over for a yoga retreat We had our own transport so we were able to get about to see the sites Hopefully I will get a chance to upload some photos but I didn't want to waist any more time not sharing our experience of this hidden gem
