The huts are inspired by the joys of simple lives led by the tides. Generally used for utilitarian purposes, the exteriors are influenced by the rustic Seaweed Picker huts, found further round Tauroa Point, and the rich history of the tramping hut, found dotted over New Zealand. The interiors have been reimagined to provide a balance between that which is essential and that little something extra. Leaving space for you to create your own version of paradise.
Stayed for two nights over Easter and couldn't recommend the place enough! Adam was great to deal with from the very beginning, all the way through to the end of our stay. The place was a dream - every little detail was thought out. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Beautiful views from the deck, the couch, and bed! Can't wait to return. Thanks guys!

From the time we arrived generously hosted by Tania. This fabulous place developed by her clever father, we relaxed and felt peaceful. Great location, exceeded expectations regarding cottages and that we were nestled in the bush. Beds very comfortable and clean, could not recommend higher.

This is not a 4 star experience. Have stayed in better accomodations in a campsite for a third of the price. This was meant to be our highlight accomodation for our Northland family holiday. Place in need of some TLC and maintenance

Eagles Nest is a multi award winning retreat overlooking the spectacular Bay of Islands. The 75 acre estate offers five world class luxury villas. Each offering; private heated infinity edge lap pool (excl First Light Villa), jacuzzi, air conditioning, home theater system. Talented chefs prepare cuisine featuring regional delicacies matched with New Zealand wines.
Stayed at Eagles Nest and loved the place - so much so have rebooked for December. We had a gorgeous villa - everything was perfect except for the Master Bedroom which did not have bedside tables which made life a bit awkward to put your items on the floor or behind the bed - also the master ensuite quite awkward for baths - however, there were 2 other bathrooms in the villa - gorgeous views you almost had to force yourself to go out anywhere! The service was very good - we had chefs come in and prepare dinners for us and found this to be exceptional!

Boutique waterfront cottages in Russell. Guests enjoy sea views from every cottage across the sheltered waters of our bay. Our luxury bed and breakfast is designed for couples, but children are also welcome. Have an authentic cottage stay experience in a location close to Russell but far enough away to enjoy natural quiet surroundings. Four eco cottages are set privately among tree ferns and landscaped organic gardens. A natural habitat for birds and part of our local safe haven for kiwi and weka. At the bottom of the garden is our private beachfront. Two kayaks, row boat and fishing equipment is available for guests to use. Bay of Island Cottages is a small New Zealand owned and operated enterprise. We have been welcoming guests since 2001 and are committed to quality and personal service. - A peaceful waterside retreat. Sea views from every cottage. - Free wifi - Gourmet breakfast included - Location close to Russell but far enough away to enjoy natural quiet surroundings.
We have been visiting Russell for many years as we really like the area, its history, and its people. We opted to stay at the Bay of Islands cottages and booked for 2 nights, during March of this year. Our review of our stay is substantially different from reviews already on trip advisor. We booked the cottages based on the reviews and a recommendation from friends who had stayed there 4-5 years ago but our experience wasn’t good at all. We found our room to be rather grim. Whilst the cottage was spacious and clean, it was old and tired, and was not in the “luxury” category which we expected at this location for $300 per night. We also noted a dirty BBQ, tired outdoor furniture, and the kayaks overgrown with vegetation. A recent review referred to enjoying "lively conversations over a delicious breakfast, cooked by Jenny and served on the verandah of their house” this didn't happen. It was delivered to our room and was underwhelming and meagre. Please look at the photos - the BBQ, cottage entrance, the ‘70’s style’ entertainment area and cooking facilities, ‘the extensive breakfast on the veranda,’ and some of the snack food past the sell-by date - a picture is worth a thousand words. The following morning, we asked we for a refund as weren't comfortable continuing our stay for a second night. The owner said he would refund the $300 for the second night as we had decided to leave. After our departure, over a 6-week period, we made several requests for our refund, all of which were ignored. Our final telephone conversation was rather unpleasant, with the owner refusing to refund our money - this was not the behaviour one might expect from hosts with such 'glowing' reviews. We will never stay there again, and we have informed our friends of this. New Zealand hospitality is generally excellent – this wasn’t. Whilst we are now $300 out of pocket and left with nothing except a bad taste, our concern is more for tourists being disappointed with their visit to Russell. To ensure that our review is taken seriously, I have included 9 interior and exterior photos of the cottage.

Luxury Heritage Holiday Accommodation in the heart of Russell, Bay of Islands, New Zealand. A 2 minute flat walk to the waterfront. In one of NZ's oldest houses you can't help but have a truly unique stay. Circa 1840. 'The White House' - the luxuries of a hotel with the comfort of a home. A fully renovated villa with open plan kitchen/lounge, 4 beautiful ensuite rooms & Super King size beds. FREE Wi-Fi, BBQ & SKY TV
Recently spent 4 nights with two other couples at the White House. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very well appointed with all the appropriate supplies. Given the reason for our visit was to get together the kitchen and dining facilities were very good. Everything you needed to prepare and serve meals was provided. Location was superb being close to all amenities that Russell has to offer yet remained very quite. Definitely worth considering for a return visit.

Self-contained accommodation in a choice of two waterfront modern cottages. Your secluded hideaway is set within a large property of natural bush and sub-tropical landscaped gardens. Relax in peace and privacy with a stunning outlook onto a hidden cove.
A genuine sanctuary. Well off the busy road right on the beach which is all but completely your own. Very comfortable cottage, lovely host, and spectacular outlook. Relax from the moment you arrive to the minute you’re dragged away!
