Icecaps and glaciers, spouting geysers and steaming solfataras, volcanoes, raging rivers and magnificent waterfalls, a bevy of birds, cavorting whales offshore and much more are on your Iceland itinerary. Among lively Reykjavik's multitude of attractions are Hallgrimur's Church, a bevy of geothermal baths and sizzling hot nightlife. The Icelandic capital is the starting point for the Golden Circle Route driving tour through the southwest. The mineral-rich Blue Lagoon is a 40-minute drive from the city.

We camped in our van here last week - really friendly owner, who went out of her way to keep the restaurant open for us. We enjoyed being able to have a shower and wash up inside. The hot tub is a fantastic addition - this is naturally heated, we loved spending time in here despite the freezing mad dash back inside to get our towels!

You’d be hard pressed to find a more beautiful looking building on the archipelago. It’s got all the modern amenities you would expect from a guesthouse. Comfortable double beds with memory foam mattresses, flat-screen TVs, access to free parking, an outdoor picnic area and complimentary WiFi and a Personal hotspot the whole trip in Iceland. Plus, many of the guest-rooms have fabulous views looking out over the mountains.

We stayed here two nights. We met the owner once when we arrived. The hut is small but well-appointed. The kitchen was with all what we need to cook our own meals and it was great. No breakfast served so you need to have all the groceries with you when you arrive. Driving 10 minutes to downtown if you want to dining and shopping. Beds were comfortable. I would certainly stay again and recommend to anyone.

The cottage was excellent. It had everything that we needed for an overnight stay. Check in instructions were clear and communicated well ahead of our arrival. This came in handy as we reached the cottage quite late.

We booked to stay at the riverside guest house for a one night stop over. We arrived at the accommodation after a long drive only to faced with a confusing self check in service, which was so vague and poorly instructed. We tried the code in the door and had no luck, as the door itself hadn’t been unlocked! I then rang the number provided several times with no answer and even emailed and am yet to receive a response! The place robbed us of our money and in the end had to sort out last minute accommodation elsewhere ! We stayed at Stracta Hotel, which was lovely and I would highly recommend! They offered us a free upgrade and breakfast included. I would avoid this place at all costs. It may be cheaper but they’ve just done us over! Not worth the hassle and added unnecessary stress to our trip! The place itself looks run down and smells musty. All in all, I’d rate this place 0/10. I would appreciate any advice on how to go about receiving a full refund. And also if anyone else has had a similar issue!

Superhost! Great cosy place in a 1906 house. Nearby the old center of Reykjavik (only 7mins walk) and near the BSI bus terminal (also 7mins). Best beds ever, even better than home. Cosy living room annex kitchen. Stayed here eith a friend and two adult kids after hiking the Laugavegur trail in august. I could hardly walk due to severe blisters. Edda was so kind to lent me the shoes from her husband! How nice. Free wifi. Will come back for sure!

This place lives up to its reputation. Close to the airport making it an ideal first or last stop of a road trip. Place is spotless , cosy and comfortable. No name boards though ! All basic amenities are provided for. Both supermarkets are at a walkable distance. Don't miss the Fish and Chips stall near the supermarket. The host is absolutely a gem of a person.
