This was probably my least favorite place to stay in 3 weeks in Malawi. I spent one night before doing the hike to Sapitwa Peak. There were all sorts of loud noises outside my room much of the night and the mosquito net around my bed had holes in it and I had mosquitoes buzzing around me half the night. I'm not sure I actually slept at all. No hot water despite other reviews raving about the hot showers. And while I ordered dinner for like 6:30, the chef decided he needed to leave earlier so he cooked it up, wrapped it in plastic and left it on a table for me in the dining hall. No one else was around so I didn't even know how to get a beverage! Not sure if they were just short-staffed because of Covid, but there was just a total lack of service.

Standard rooms, twin rooms and deluxe rooms.
Excellent accommodation, good ambiance and nice people around to take care.It is a bit old building, but caters all your needs. Food is an excellent for Asians & western guys and the staff is most courteous. Owner of the hotel is an excellent human being, takes care of your small small needs. Other staff is good.

Been to this lodge two times. The first time I had a great time. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had Mzuzu cofee en free Wi-Fi. But the second time it wasn't no good. Don't let your standards go down. All in all it's a nice lodge

I stayed here for 5 nights and it was not worth the money. The standard rooms at $50 are extremely basic. The executive room at $100 was nice and spacious but facilities were average. The bar is lively and locals were very friendly and welcoming. Beer is 1100K for a Carlsberg and food ranged from 3000K upwards. Food was ok, but breakfast was poor. Often things were not available and you had to wait 20mins for an omelette. Filtered coffee often not available. The bedrooms were very clean and staff very helpful. However they had no record of my booking even though I’d received two emails. There was no introduction to the facilities and no information at all in the room. There were numerous electricity blackouts, so although I paid for aircon it didn’t work a lot of the time. WiFi signal was weak and I only got one 250MB voucher and then had to pay. It was hard to catch up on work emails. I was woken at 6am because the shower heating from the room next door was in my room. It’s a good 25 minutes walk into town. It would be useful if they had a basic map in the room and a list of facilities ie when breakfast is available, how to get taxi, cost of airport transfers etc. The pool is nice but had lots of students using it at the weekend and conference guests sitting by it during the week. It was not a good place to relax. Ive paid a lot less for much better facilities elsewhere. They either need to improve certain facilities or drop the price. It is much cheaper if you pay in local currency.

I stayed in a single room with an ensuite bathroom; cost me about $8 USD. I was there for three nights. It's very basic. Not the cleanest lodge - there were cockroaches and geckos - but there's plenty of bugs all over Malawi. There's cheap beers at the bar, there's hot water in the shower, and they turn the generator on at night for power so that's good enough for me.

The hotel is still under construction.... and by the looks of things, it will be a while before it is completed. The staff were very attentive and did their best to make us welcome. The wifi was spotty at best, and the food service was adequate.

Went for a days visit in Mzimba and went here for some snacks. Service was really poor. The waitress was busy on social media on her phone. The waiter didn't understand and know what was on offer for a snack menu. Had to walk to the manager's office to get my order. They need to improve on front office and Restaurant staff customer service.
