Seven (7) km out of the town of Mae Hong Son , Fern Resort is nestled in a small valley. Surrounded by forest-covered mountains and rice paddies, it offers comfortable accommodation in unspoiled, yet soothing nature. A small creek and a well maintained ground with rich fauna and flora make this eco-tourism resort the perfect place to stay for nature lovers. We would like our resort to be the forest home for the naturalist who is looking for a peaceful place. You will not find telephones or TVs in your room, but instead you can enjoy the beautiful sounds of nature.
I stayed here with three friends while backpacking SE Asia, and we absolutely loved it! Such a beautiful resort with great food and lovely people. The resort backs out onto a nature trail. I will be back someday!

I stayed 2 days with Oud and Yoon, a kind and lovely family that showed us their culture and some beautiful spots around the village. We visited the local school and we were english teachers for 2 hours, we learnt about Shan culture, cooked delitious dishes, visited a hotsprings and a beautiful sunflowers fields. They provided us a bikes so we could explore the village, that is owesome. This was an authentic and one of the best experiences in my trip around Thailand.

The staff here surely live up to the name of the “resort” as they are incredibly friendly, and it’s a short walk into the main town. Unfortunately these positives aren’t enough to save the place. The beds are hard as a rock, the room was full of mozzies, and the shower has no warm/hot water nor pressure. The pool has a thick film of filth on top of the water - definitely not safe to swim in, and the outside is overgrown. Also, they did provide us with free towels but mine was littered with dark brown stains. This place has a lot of potential but do yourself a favour and stay in town!

Please never go to this place. Elephants are beaten for disobedience. Awful business do not support! Theres plenty of elephant sanctuaries you can visit in thailand if you want to see elephants. Don’t go here.

Few minutes ride from central Pai, you will see a stylish magnificent resort of HideAway model in a midst of ThaiYai village, PaiCome HideAway. A very private resort 600 metres above sea level with 36 luxurious rooms. 7ft king size bed and fully furnished with LCD TV, wifi internet, bathtub separate from shower, etc. Enjoy riding electric bike to touch the Pai scenery and return fresh up at poolside in PaiCome HideAway.
As a solo traveller usually staying in hostels, I *treated* myself to a 'Superior Double Room' at Pai Come Hideaway resort. I was VERY disappointed with my stay to say the least. The room was very nice but most facilities that were advertised on the hotel listing were not available whilst I was there. It says there is an onsite restaurant serving a range of foods but Mr. Chinn advised me that it had closed the day before due to it being low season. There wasn't even snacks I could buy, he didn't even stock the fridge with minibar items as he normally would. My plan was to relax by the pool for 2 days before staying in the centre of Pai and just buy food at the onsite restaurant when I was hungry (I didn't mind that it was far away because I planned to relax). But there was absolutely nothing within walking distance, no shops, no food, the only place to get food was in Pai which was a 3km away. He advised me the only way to get around was by scooter, but this wasn't an option for me as I had a scooter accident a few weeks previous. He said he could take me down to the centre but it would cost me 200baht each way (no free shuttle!). I paid for this at 8pm for him to take me down then he said that the latest he could pick me up was 10pm, but I had no choice with no taxi options in Pai, was like being picked up by a parent! So paid this as there was no other choice but to starve! I tried to go in the pool the following day but it felt too dirty to even stay in, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in about 2 weeks, lots of algae & dirt floating around. I confronted Mr. Chinn and asked why his listing says there is a restaurant available when it's not open, and his reasoning was that 'I booked a budget room'... not sure how 'Superior' is budget? I paid much more than I normally would and it was a waste of money, breakfast wasn't even optional like it said in the listing.. no food was! Fake advertising, if the facilities aren't open in low season then he should have made this clear before I arrived. Had to pay another 200 baht at the end for him to take me back into the centre, wasn't happy. Wouldn't stay again.

I booked two nights but was so happy there that I ended up extending twice! I was initially in a twin room and then had to switch to a double later. They have six bungalows in total. Three are facing north, two of these are doubles and one is a twin. I was in the twin to begin with. The other three are facing west, these are all double rooms. When I was in one of these I felt it was colder in the morning and hotter in the afternoon, compared with the north facing room I'd been in. The sun comes on the balcony of these ones in the afternoon. The internet was not always stable, but that's the norm in that area, and it can be nice to be offline at times :D As a vegan they were able to accommodate for me regarding breakfast. Every morning I had a big bowl of freshly cut fruit, so good! There was an option to add muesli / soy milk. Bread and peanut butter / jam are available for all. The staff here may not speak much English but they definitely try and communication is absolutely possible. Such lovely people.

What I like are: 1. Huge Area 2 Good Size Family Room 3. Place to Hang Laundry What I dislike: 1. Poorly maintained place. 2. TV too small. Didnt even bothered to turn it on and it is an old model not a flat screen. 3. Bunk bed ladder is scary to climb up 4. No free breakfast 5. No electric kettle

Nice place, about 10 minutes walk from the main street. Free wifi which was reliable. It wasn't obvious where reception was but it's the small open building next to the main house on the right. They didn't seem to speak much English but were friendly. They told me the wifi password in Thai and I've attached a photo. There's free coffee. I saw some chickens but heard no rooster and had a good nights sleep. Good value for money
