Step back in time and imagine Italy as it was during 550 B.C. At least, that’s what you can do when you visit The Cilento—home to the remains of two ancient Greek cities: Paestum and Velia. To experience life a little later on, head to the Certosa di Padula, a Carthusian monastery (and World Heritage site) that dates back to 1306 and is known for its Baroque-style architecture. The park’s landscape also hints at these forgotten times with its vast seaside views and deep cave systems such as the Grotte di Castelcivita.

Panoramic and commode.
This is a fantastic place. Location is top, food is great and good value. Private beach, not a sand beach but nice for swims / cliffs. Close to city center and very nice helpful staff. Def comeback to this place.

The residence is quite nice and well maintained. The apartments are basic and the furniture and decor was somewhat tired. The overall place however, is clean and the pool/bar area is overall rather pleasant. The coastline in Palinuro is beautiful and the clear water and wide beaches make the location rather attractive. The residence however is very far away from the beach and the road to get there is narrow and steep. Car parking was a major issue as we weren't told there was a car park available for the lido's customers. To be able to find a parking spot nearby, we had to go to the beach at sunrise. The alternative would have been the shuttle, but running twice a day only, that too, is rather inconvenient. The residence has a bar but the nearest shops and restaurants are in Centola or on the seaside. Although the distance is limited, getting there and back takes some time, due to the state of the roads. On the other hand, being immersed in the vegetation halfway through between the top of the hill and the seaside, the views from the balcony are indeed stunning. The residence offers animation and mini club. The staff is nice and friendly. However, we found the animation much more oriented towards grown-up teenager children, with constant music and dancing by the pool, than for smaller children. Let's say that if you're looking for some quiet reading by the pool, this is not the place for you, especially in August. Timetable is lose, and again, with children, that means never knowing when and if the pool or the bar will be open and how long you can actually stay there before dinner or before bedtime. Again, the whole place is oriented towards families with grown up children which, indeed, make up the majority of the guests, at least in August. Overall, I'd say it's a nice place, but I would recommend only if you're a fan of loud music, group dancing and summer pop hits. If you're aiming at seaside life, and some balance between entertainment and relax, I'd say look elsewhere

At the gates of Palinuro in the Cilento National Park, near the railway station of Palinuro / Marina di Camerota, served in the summer season also by the Frecciarossa train, the Casale del Borgo B&B offers you an excellent and economic location to live and visit the entire Costa del Cilento and its secret internal beauties. In the small village at the foot of the medieval village of San Severino di Centola, an old independent building, completely renovated, houses the 6 rooms, for couples or families up to 2 children, of the B&B Casale del Borgo, all with private bathroom, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast, served as a buffet, can be eaten inside or in its large garden between the orchard and the smells of plums, where an old oven in which bread was cooked for the family, is flanked by a barbeque placed at guests' disposal for evenings with friends. With only 10 minutes, by car or by our shuttle, crossing the picturesque Valle del Diavolo and along the river Mingardo you can reach the beaches of the coast of Palinuro and Marina di Camerota: from the Marinella beach, to the Arco Naturale or in the long Costa del Mingardo. Here is easy to find excursions to the fantastic Caves of the promontory of Palinuro or the Bay of the Infreschi. An enchanting place for those who, although close by, love to live out of the typical summer tourism crowd and from which you can venture into the old medieval village, uninhabited, but of great beauty both during the day, with its narrow and narrow streets and ruins of authentic emotions, which at night with the lighting that enhances the forms and makes them relive the ancient splendor. You will realize that you are unconsciously part of history passing under a bridge in the old railway, well preserved and symbol of the creative beauty and manufacturing capacity of Italy in the early years of the last century. It is no coincidence that these places are often ideal locations for films with a historical setting. You can also easily move inside to discover the many "non-tourist" restaurants and taste the dishes of the Brigands or the natural beauties of the Cilento Park, such as the Scavi di Roccagloriosa and Elea-Velia or the Naturalistic Oasis of Morigerati or the seaside village of Scario.

Thanks to everybody at the b&b Belvedere in Palinuro who’s always welcomed us with a smile and warmth. My friends and I have truly enjoyed our experience, we booked a triple room which had a large double bed and a single bed, a suitable bathroom with a nice shower and a balcony with an air drier for our clothes and a few chairs and table to hang out. Breakfast was good, we thoroughly enjoyed the crostata from the restaurant Core a Core, we were waiting everyday for a different flavour! We ended up leaving a day early cause the weather was meant to be bad on the last day and stuff came up for us as well. Gave 4/5 because the beds were not massively comfortable, but I would come back to this B&b. Thanks to everyone again!

We visited Trentinara for a few days in July 2019 during a two week driving excursion in the south of Italy. We picked this town for its proximity to nearby ancestral villages that we wanted to visit, but had no idea what to expect--especially since the price of the rooms was deceptively low for what we've come to expect in Italy. Well...our stay was spectacular! What a beautiful little town and a well appointed, but homey bed and breakfast. Our hosts were extremely helpful during our stay at their lovely villa, but also with maneuvering around the town--going above and beyond what we would have expected from hotel hosts.
