I booked a room for 3 nights having dental work done. They have a complimentary shuttle from the dental office to the hotel and back if you need it. Price was great at $74 a night. Room was not a 4 star like advertised on their site. It was more like a 2 star in America-like Motel 6. They put us across the street a 1/2 block away. The room was upstairs. The door had gaps and there was a light right outside our door which attracted gnats. The gnats came into our room and settled on my bed. There was a leak in the shower that made the floor wet. Also there were barking dogs in a lot next door. They started barking at 4pm until 8am when the business opened back up. I didn’t sleep very well here. Maids washed the bedspreads and hung them to dry on the railings. So it was not easy for us seniors to go up and down the stairs without holding onto something. Not sure if I will stay again. On a good note, their restaurant was excellent and there was another really good restaurant within walking distance, La Parilla’s. All staff was very friendly and spoke English.

Staff was friendly, nice rooms, central location. But very unnerved by the management — I have several charges on my credit card from the hotel that exceeds my original bill. When we asked to speak with management to resolve the issue, they have not fixed the problem. Also very loud on Thursday nights — they host a party till midnight. Can’t sleep even with earplugs.

We spend one night at this place and was not what we expected. The only enjoyable thing was the swimming pool. Very hard bed, the pillows were very small and all clumpy. The room was small no closet, no courtesy water bottles. Breakfast was chips with some sauces and scramble eggs, some fruit. We stayed at different hotels less expensive and better. Price was too high.

The room wasn’t bad and they did have nice security watching our stuff at night but here’s what is lacking. The service and the restaurant is horrible. We sat there for 30 minutes trying to get lunch before we left I got up 3 Times to let the waitress know that we wanted to order some food I got up and got our own drinks but then after waiting for so long we decided we would go next-door to eat and asked for a late check out. We were told no. I then explained the service we just received at the restaurant and the reason why but we were still told no. They have a coffee maker in the room but no coffee cups. No glasses in the bathroom to brush your teeth. And there is a God awful sewer smell.

The front desk person I dealt with staying there is terrible; has no customer service skills. Check in took 1/2 hour though she had the reservation, she required me to email the reservation & proof of payment. Room 102, is next to the elevator motor, so and, hear street noise. They had vacancies to give me a better room. The key card reader did not work so each time I had to wait for a maid to open my door. The rain shower head did not work and dripped like a hose. I lost credit card room key and they charged me $5. There is no work desk in the room, and they denied me the very nice conference room which was empty, She sent me to the front t.v. room, which has a very nice but is next to the street noise and the open front door., which they won't close They have small work stations in the t.v. room, but only one uncomfortable chair which I used a pillow from the sectional in the t.v. room to make it work. The televison has 40 Spanish channels and if you go to the input button on the remote, you get Xumo Free TV. It has 5 news channels (NBC, Today show and ABC GMA), 20 movie channels and a bunch of other cable channels. It is in Otay Mesa which is 8 miles from Centro Tijuana, it is a $4 Uber ride and probably $1 if you take a bus or group taxi to Centro Tijuana. There is a Costco nearby, McDonalds and Carls and a lot of small restaurants close. All in all, I don't think that I would spend the time traveling to Youkos Hotel Boutique unless I was going to TJ airport.

My sisters and I had such an awesome time at the Montecristo. This was their first time visiting and they could not believe the property, service and the awesome people. We are already planning our next trip. Raphael was our shuttle driver, what an awesome person. Great personality and ready to help for whatever. I can't get enough of this place.

The hotel lobby is great looking and the outside seems nice enough, then you get inside your room and find spartan like conditions. You get an old bed, a tv, a heater , an ac, a restroom, two towels and a water pitcher? The restroom was the worst part it had two tiny towels and tile everywhere. As I was stepping down into the shower (yes you have to step down) I slipped and landed on the edge of the step I had a huge bruise for more than a week it’s better than bleeding to death on a dirty restroom floor. Super slippery tile beware and no hand rail anywhere to help myself up. As I was laying on the floor I realized the restroom needed cleaning. Although it smelled of bleach I found red hairs everywhere. staff didn’t care to hear my complaints and simply dismissed me by saying “so you won’t be staying with us after all” I told him I wouldn’t and left to a better hotel all in less than one hour.

We were in Tijuana for medical purposes for two weeks and needed a two bedroom apartment with a kitchen. Rio Suites was perfect--immaculate, centrally located, nicely furnished, with good beds, but best of all, the staff, Ricardo, Aviva, Sayed, everyone couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. We were so happy there that friends immediately moved to one of the hotel rooms and were equally thrilled. Rio Suites offers a range of accommodations from large hotel rooms to condos. We can't recommend this place highly enough for the level of their rooms and wonderful service.

The place has potential but it left a lot to be desired. The property and rooms are essentially unfinished. The rooms are very spacious and have a mini fridge inside which was nice. There was construction on a new building out front and the rooms themselves were unfinished. We had wires sticking out of the walls with no covers or light fixtures attached. The room we stayed in along with the room some friends stayed in had broken locks on the patio doors. I brought this to their attention and they said not to worry because they have 24 hour security roaming the property. They Also stated that they would have someone check it out but it was still broken when we returned. When we initially checked in there was used shampoo and conditioner in our shower. The next day the cleaning crew also left cleaning supplies in our room. For what they’re charging, they don’t give any amenities. No I’m room coffee, no clearly marked bathroom essentials, just cheap refillable plastic bottles. For a wine resort, I would also think they would give you a complimentary bottle for the room or at least a complimentary tasting. They don’t. I would stay else where until they figure it out, finish the rooms and fix all the busted doors.
