Spent two nights here with friends in early September as part of a cycling trip in the Ardèche. Really enjoyed our stay at Le Felicien. The hotel was created quite recently in a building that was formerly a boarding school. Rooms were comfortable and nicely appointed, breakfast was very good, and our dinner on the large back terrace was excellent. If you're cycling they have a secure storage shed for bicycles. All in all, an excellent 3-star hotel offering very good value for money. It is well located for cycling or general touring in the Ardèche.

Owned by the Pommier Family since 1780, the house saw seven generations of farmers taking care of the land, imprinting their path in the original building. Dating from 1630 AC, the main part of the house was bought by Auguste Pommier under Napoleon Time. Agricultural barns and cellars have been added through time and generations giving a real Provencal charm to the domain. Working some traditional Ardeche crops, the domain started very early to cultivate vines, elaborating quality wines. At the end of the 19th century, the crop of silk worms added a lot of complementary buildings to the winery, including many chimneys still found in the rooms. In 2004, Raphaël, current owners of this family patrimony, decided to renovate the bedrooms of the main building. Working with old materials in a traditional way, they brought life back into the house, respecting history and traditions. Today, guests can stay in one of 5 traditionnal provencal bedrooms, in a peaceful country environment.
our existances brought us so far from the nature and plain life that we needed our stay there to return 50 years back remembering jean ferrat songs to appreciate it. dont expect anything likany kind of hotel nor air condition of full buffet breakfast but for sure you will not find elsewhere that enriching conversation with pierre and monique the parents of raphael the wine grower whose charming wife rachel american born will tell you about how it is to live next to the earth its contingents and the stories of the domaine , their properties of more than 10 generations. the breafast served in the middle of the trees facing the fields made of local cheeses and home made jams, coffee is excellent and all guests participated with conviviality. the swimming pool and jacuzzi will be yours during most of the day. the restaurant we did not visite is well reknown and need earlier reservation.ask the hosts to translate jean ferrat songs and you will remenber this stay as a sole one

Nice bedroom but looks like an hospital everything is white and no decoration . We enjoyed this very area in a typical Ardeche village and the owner took kindly care of us and our questions . It is necessary to travel to other villages to find a restaurant or a bar
