July 2018 NEW Open
We have stayed one night to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Free shuttle is available outside south exit of Karuizawa Station. It takes a 15 mins ride to the hotel. The deluxe room is spacious and stylish. The toilet is super large with double sink, separate shower, toilet and bath. The onsen is closed while we are staying because of the typhoon in October. We go to the hot pool within the same building. It is terrific with both indoor and outdoor pool as well as spa. We do enjoy a delicious and romantic dinner in the French restaurant. Buffet breakfast has adequate choices and the food is good. The staff are polite and caring especially the young lady that drives us back from the cafe to the hotel during sudden heavy rain. We would like to thank for the special surprise during our anniversary stay. This is a hotel highly recommended for a relaxing stay.

I went to its guesthouse for 5 days. Our room is full of 3 bank beds so that max cap is 9 people, but we can share only my family and dog. So, we can stay comfortable and enjoy. Everything is so old but enough to use and keep clean. Owner is elder lady very kind and friendly. We taked meals many places by easy access and saved accommodation fee. In a addition big bathtub is hot and fun. I recommend here strongly.

We 3 families have spent the whole week there and find it an extremely pleasant experience. I would definitely rate it 5 stars and will recommend it to others. There is one major reason why I rated this - the hotel owner Yugo Nose San is such a nice, considerate and professional person. I’m a very frequent traveller and of course I agree there are some other hotels with better hardware quality. But the service we received from Yugo San is absolutely first class. Some examples: - his English proficiency is very high as he’s spent 16 years in Europe. - he drove us to the ski park and even led us to the track to make sure our kids are comfortable with it - he proactively drove us to the Snow Monkey Park when he knew we might need to wait for an hour for the bus. - he served us whiskey and snacks every night - he planned for us how to go to airport in a better way, again proactively There are some other examples showing that he is always willing to step beyond his duty and is so flexible that he always puts the customers first. I can see some positive and negative comments about the hotel and I do agree with most of these comments. However, with Yugo San, everything becomes different. Our kids also love it so much, mainly because of him. Very well done, thanks for your service and we will come back for sure.

最近、夏休みは高過ぎていけませんが、平日やオープン、クローズ時期は狙い目です。 浅間山が眼前にあり、気持ち良いコースです。

This is a review for the onsen only. I came here twice for day use onsen and loved it. The minerals in the water make your skin silky smooth and the ambiance is nice. Entrance fee is quite cheap (around 500 yen) and there is a big waiting area, restaurant and gift shop in the front. In the back there is also a resting room for after onsen. The onsen has many different baths. Inside there are 5 different baths; including a jacuzzi jet, radon, aroma bath and natural onsen water; outside there are 2 rotenburos plus a detached sauna with cool water bath nearby. There is a beautiful wood roof over the walkway outside and one of the rotenburos is made of hinoki wood, which is very aromatic. There is also a yard for a small walk and cooling down with foot massagers outside. Also the area has great dark skies for stargazing at night. I believe the onsen is open until 8 pm for day use guests.

If you want a hotel that has super easy access to snow, this is the one. However, the room is quite tiny for a family of four. There is equipment for hire within the hotel. The breakfast and dinner is inclusive but the food is the same and quite avwrage.

Cheapest cost at the area called "Ichinose" which is the most popular street. Comfortable rooms with huge public Japanese bath at basement with onsen, snack shop, dinning room for more than 200 guests. 24 hours reception with very friendly staff. But staff speak Japanese only but you can use google translate if you have anything extra other than check in and out. They serves buffet breakfast and dinner inclusive in room fee, food is reasonable good but not gorgeous dinning

My wife, who is not a skier but loves snowshoeing, had difficulty finding snowshoes for hire at Shiga Kogen. The people in this hotel's ski hire facility went well out of their way to source a pair. The price was minimal. All this despite the fact that we were not staying at that hotel. Now I know the Japanese are rightly famed for their hospitality but this was outstanding even by their standards. If this is typical of this hotel's standard of service, I know where we'll be staying next.
