Set on 70 acres in Boynton Canyon, this upscale resort is 8.5 miles from Sedona and 16 miles from Slide Rock State Park. Sophisticated rooms with Southwestern decor feature decks with views of the red rock mountains, as well as Wi-Fi, minibars and coffeemakers. Upgraded rooms and suites add fireplaces and kitchens; some include private pools or hot tubs.
Beware - The door to an adjoining room did not have a lock on it! An empty hole where a lock clearly should have been was simply covered by a decorative plate. The plate itself was about to fall off and when we moved it we realized there was no lock and someone from the adjoining room could open their door and simply push our door open! We told maintenance and hours later he returned with a lock, acted as if they didn’t know and no apology was made! The room is in a dire need for an update! The shower is in the bathtub which has a very high lip on it. Someone with balance issues would definitely struggle as we both hit our knees and ankles trying to get in and out. The glass doors that slide back and forth are very heavy and the knobs are about to fall off making them difficult to open and close. There’s no doubt that the surrounding area is stunning; but don’t plan on saying the same about the accommodations!

My stay exceeded my expectations. I was here to attend a medical conference and needed to arrive 1 day earlier than my reservation was for. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me and allow me to check in early which was most appreciated after a long flight from NY. The amenities in room and the facilities and services throughout were exceptional. Every restaurant had delicious food and impeccable service.

I was there to celebrate my 55th bday. Everyone from check in to the pool side bar/food to JD's Lounge we're all so pleasant. I was primarily there to have friends and family at JD's Lounge. James and the other management as well as the staff were very accommodating and made my birthday even more special

There is a lot to love about this hotel. -The pool area is perfect, lots of space to spread out even when its busy. -Lots to do. There is a hike, fantastic gym, tennis courts, spa, it has everything you need. -There are two pools, one is a bit quieter and technically an "adult pool" where we only ever saw one person use it. -Service was excellent. They have a text line we used a lot and received prompt responses. -They had a stargazing experience with a professional astronomer that was really really cool. -They had live music every night that was really entertaining. -I loved that our room had a balcony with chairs and that this was available in every room. -The Ventana Canyon trailhead is a short walk from the hotel. Lots of long hikes to go on! -The room had a mini-fridge, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, we felt like we had everything we needed. I know they offer microwaves on request. A few minor complaints/observations: -The food selection at the pool and two restaurants is not that extensive. For how much they are charging it would be nice for them to have a bit more variety. -There was one day where we requested room service at a specific time (later in the day around 3-4pm) and they came anyway at around 9:00. I don't know what the point of taking requests for room service time is if they don't honor it. -The main pool area serves alcohol, I know that this is popular, but there are no drinks available at the "adult" pool but there are at the family friendly pool. Didn't really make sense to me. I highly recommend staying here, the scenery is beautiful, there are a lot of cool things to do and experience!

Experience resort luxury with authentic, southwestern ambiance in Tucson, Arizona. Discover the romantic and vintage style of Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort. Rich in Tucson history, the resort resides in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains on 34 acres of natural desert landscape. Botanical gardens envelop the resort's private casitas, guest rooms and suites. Authentic adobe structures and hand-carved, wood-beamed ceilings circa 1929 are just a few of the preserved details amidst modern day amenities.
We loved our Sonoran king room on the ground floor looking towards the Santa Catalina mountains, a patio with outdoor shower (which we didn’t use as it didn’t look very user friendly) and our “own” huge saguaro cactus next to the patio. We felt like we were on the edge of the desert, it was very quiet and restful. Spacious, beautifully decorated bedroom and shower room. Very pleasant to stroll round the grounds admiring the cacti and succulents. We dined both evenings of our stay in the Grill restaurant which is supposed to be fine dining. We didn’t think it was fine dining, the choices on the menu quite simple, but we enjoyed what we ate and were impressed that Arizonan wine was on the wine list. Breakfast sitting outside at the terrace restaurant was very good - but do they really need to air condition the outside air, especially first thing in the morning?

Beautiful grounds with the rooms scattered around charming little courtyards, sitting areas and lawns. Our casita had a small patio at the back surrounded by a high wall, and a more open one at the front under bougainvillea. While the room had all we needed (including a pod coffee machine) it was very dark, even in the bright sunshine of day and the electric lights were entirely inadequate, they need better lighting in there! Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were excellent. We enjoyed a guided tour of the characterful main building with its beautiful furnishings and decor.

Fabulous Golf/Spa Resort - many options for outings and incredible pools for all ages. Most rooms have nice views. Need more dining options - plan to go off the property if staying more than a couple of days.

Overall experience exceeded our expectations. Looking at the pictures online we knew this place would be beautiful but being there in person was a whole different (and amazing experience). Rooms and grounds were beautiful but the service was on another level of great.
