We stayed for eight days in a row and we had an amazing experience. The building and the view were beautiful and everyone who works there were really nice and made sure we had a great time. Things to improve: coffee in room service (makes no sense that you can't get a cup of coffee or tea in your room).

Incredible landscape and enviroment, warmly and kindly accompained by an excellent HHRR team. Insite restaurant and bar, with reasonable prices, forest sorrounding the complex give a touch for pedrestrian walks, and a common area with barbicues and sports facilities near de hotel brings a nice alternative at the several places to visit.

Didnt know Bariloche, and it was pure luck. It is located 25 kms (40 min in a bus) from Bariloche, but 200 mts ( 400yds) from the sky station. Since my goal was snow, sky and such, it was just a great place. I know, it is OLD, and need some work to be done, it also makes it mor like a nice cabin in the winter. Service from the hotel was excelent. There is a store accross the street to buy some food, a couple of restaurants, and a bus service each hour to go downtown.

The rooms of the hotel are outdated (TV, beds and decorations), does not have a warm welcoming feeling. Since these rooms are old, you can hear everyone in the hallway. Seems the concierge service was overwhelmed due to the high season. If you plan to be in this hotel during high season, do not count on the internet (the front desk said it was not working due to the high volume of people arriving). We had an issue with the gas/electricity, since the Interval voucher specified an amount and we got charged a higher amount. I talked to the front desk and they requested me to email the Interval voucher (note: bring the voucher printed out), but they never responded or changed the amount. The Interval voucher specified the amount to be charged by the number of rooms (dormitories) and they charged as if we had 3 rooms. When I asked why, they explained that we were 4 in the room (2 adults & 2 small children). So without a proper explanation, we felt overcharged... I will not recommend this hotel to family or friends.

We spent 3 nights here in May. We had a Falls View room and did not upgrade to the Red Level. If you're debating about Red Level, we checked it out and are glad we did not pay extra for this. It is a private room, yes. But it was not particularly large and it was way more crowded than the seating areas in the lobby, outside and in the downstairs areas of the hotel. The hotel, restaurant, common bathrooms and the room itself are immaculately clean. Kudos to the staff for how hard they work ensuring the place is kept clean and hygienic. Location: The location in the park is what makes this hotel stand out. We were able to beat the crowds to the Devil's Gorge because we were able to leave so early to get there. The scenery and views are outstanding - breathtaking. There is nothing else around other than in the park, so you must eat at the hotel and compared to other places to eat in Argentina, it's expensive. So be prepared for that. A taxi to the town with different places to eat will set you back 1700 pasos (about $17US) one way. Rooms: We had a Falls View room and it was worth the extra cost. However, if you don't wish to splurge, there are many places around the hotel where you can enjoy the view of the falls, including the lobby (which is huge), restaurant, bar, pool and outdoor areas. The beds are comfortable. My nephew enjoyed being able to watch Note: There is no bottled water available unless you purchase it from the mini bar. Nor are there any water filling stations. Bathroom: Bathrobes were provided and the rain shower had good pressure. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairdryer - all there. We found on our first day the water temperature didn't get much above warm but the next 2 days it was hot. Food/Restaurant: This was outstanding. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and every meal was delicious. It is pricey compared to what we were paying outside of the hotel. But the quality made up for this. The service in the restaurant was excellent. Every server we had was attentive without being intrusive (oh how I wish it were like this in many N American restaurants!). Pool: We couldn't really use it because it's not heated and it was chilly when we were there. It's too bad as it's a beautiful pool with nice seating and a spectacular view. I imagine it would be crowded during high volume times. Staff and Service: This was excellent. I know some reviews questioned this but I found the staff here very accommodating and helpful. And I asked a lot of questions because aside from a TV screen in the front lobby with some information, there isn't any other source of information (see below) about the hotel and its services. A highlight of the service was the Gran Melia driver we booked to take us to the Brazilian side of the Falls (same price as a taxi). He was outstanding - he drove safely (unlike our cab driver from the previous day's trip from the airport) and he supported us through Brazilian and Argentinian immigration. He took us to the 3 country border and helped us find our way to the Brazilian Falls. He was waiting for us at the end of the day when we'd finished. Just a super, above and beyond service which we were soooo grateful for! Value for Money: I've thought a lot about this.... I booked our 3 nights directly with the hotel in November using a Black Friday deal. That was not cheap but since then, the prices have gone up by another $100-200 per night. While we had a really nice experience here, I would not pay that extra money to stay here. Here's why: I understand you pay a premium to be in the park and have the views. On saying that, I still feel this is pricey given what it doesn't offer. For example - we were never given any hotel information other than when we first arrived - and quite frankly I couldn't remember it all. And it was simple things like where to find the spa; check-out time; what time the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner; what time we can enter the park; map of the park etc. I couldn't even find this on the website or the app. And if this info is available somewhere, no one told us where to find it. Also, there is nowhere to change money nor is there an ATM which for a high-end hotel so far out of the city is quite bewildering. This was the only place we stayed on our trip which didn't change $US to Pasos. Most hotels offer complimentary bottled water for their guests - not here. We had to pay for it from the minibar. The pool is not heated so if you're there in the Fall as we were, you can't use it as it's too cold. If it were heated, we'd have used it. The QR code given only gives you the menus for the restaurant - no hotel info. One Last Note - Monkeys! - If you've not had much experience with monkeys, you may think they're really cute and friendly. They are not! While they can certainly be entertaining, they are also quick, clever opportunists and can be nasty. If you are not on alert (say, you're taking photos or distracted by your phone), they will have no qualms about jumping onto your table and stealing your food. They will sit, watch and wait for any opportunity to take your lunch! Be alert! Crowd around them or tease them and they may strike back. I see this all the time where monkeys are present and the Gran Melia was no exception (every day we witnessed someone losing their lunch or needing a hotel worker to come out and shoo them away). Be on your guard and take the warning about keeping your screen/balcony door locked - not just closed, locked! -seriously! Overall we had a really nice stay here and I'm glad I was able to book a more reasonable price when I had the chance.

La Sofia is a farm (=estancia) just one hour from Buenos Aires and 14km from a nice traditional place called San Antonio de Areco. You can just come along the day for riding and or Polo, eat an "asado" (=argentian barbecue) and pass a relaxing day in the Argentinian Pampa. There are horses of the own bread available for all levels of riding y for those who want to try out Polo you can do this.
First, this was a two night stay in the middle of a long two week Argentinian vacation. We’ve never played polo before, but we’re walking away with a new level of appreciation for the sport and sincere excitement for future polo play. For the football fans out there, this is like learning football from Nick Sabin. You’ll be learning from a master of the sport, Marcos, while also enjoying the upmost hospitality from his wife Silke. They make an excellent team. I always appreciate it when reviewers leave a comment about their prior travel experience and the places seen during this most recent trip so that I can understand the context, so I’ll do the same here. Between the two of us, we’ve traveled to over 30 countries, And during the course of our trip to Argentina, we spent two days in Buenos Aires, two days in Mendoza, three days in Cafayate, two days in El Calafate, and two days in El Chalten. When I say this is I can’t mess activity, I mean it. Do not miss this. Estancia La Sofia is something that interested both of us when I was looking at places to stay around Buenos Aires. We ended up extending our trip by two days to make this portion work. We were interested in doing something uniquely Argentinian without prior horseback riding experience or polo play. We did the intensive for beginners program which involved twice a day polo lessons with Marcos and his son. Let me tell you this, polo is seriously fun. You walk away from each lesson having improved your skills. By the end of our two days there, we were both forgetting about the fact that we were even riding a horse during play. We were so engaged in the game. We have a long way to go before we can play a competitive match, but we feel that we are well on our way. We are even considering returning for a weeklong program, that’s how fun this was. If you’re reading this review, don’t hesitate, and just book this place. If you’re beginners like us, if you’re advanced players like Marcos who plays professionally and has played polo for over 60 years, you’ll improve your game and have a ton of fun. The icing on the cake is the beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, on-site pool, and some of the best meals we’ve had an Argentina prepared by Marcos and Silke. As a tip for those staying on site, there’s a nearby town which has one of the best silversmiths in the country. Don’t miss this place. We bought a beautiful pair of silver earrings with intricate details, a mate cup, and a summer hat. To conclude, this place greatly exceeded our expectations. By the end of the two days, we were both not just riding the horse, but playing, all in the most comfortable surroundings and hospitality. That’s why we will remember this visit for years to come and want to return.

Magnificent hotel that shares an area of 226 hectares with Chapelco Golf & Resort . This privileged emplacement in the natural scenery of the Andes mountains in argentine Patagonia is located at 7kms from the airport and 17kms from San Martin de los Andes city. All the rooms with exceptional views face the golf court and the mountains.
The hotel setting is great, 20 min from the city center but with a beautiful creek and world class golf course. The hotel needs a renovation in some rooms, my carpet was old and armchair was worn. The food was average, needs improvement in the menu and the breakfast is very basic and the same everyday. The gym equipments is out of service and definitely needs new equipment. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is also offering activities but I found it confusing as the information was not complete and clear. It’s best to plan as much beforehand or with an exterior operator.
