From start to finish, I had a great stay! I enjoyed the peace and tranquility found at Akari. Kathy was wonderful and very friendly!! Made us feel real welcomed. Will be back in 6 weeks for a sister getaway. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Rented Stuchin cabin for three nights. Cozy cabin for two right on the Wenatchee river. Best thing is we could bring our dogs as well. Exceptionally clean, full kitchen and oven, upstairs bedroom and full bathroom and hot tub off the deck. At night we enjoyed the hot tub, stars and river! Daytime took the dogs on hikes and Leavenworth.

My husband and I came here for our 35th wedding anniversary. I booked it well before the Covid 19 pandemic and worried that Mt. Rainier National Park would not be open upon our arrival but it was! We stayed in the Sunrise cabin because of it’s sauna and hot tub. I have no complaints what so ever. It’s private, the kitchen is perfect, there’s a bbq and fire pit (bring your own wood and only use when burn bans are not in effect). I think all of the light switches have dimmers on them and that is so romantic! They don’t have maid service, which wasn’t a problem for us. There is no dishwasher - still not a problem for us. They prefer personal checks or cash as payment because the bank charges them a fee for credit cards (understandable). Carol, the owner, gave us a tour of our cabin when we got here, she said to leave the key outside the lobby when we left and we’ve been left to ourselves ever sense, which was perfect. We were here 4 nights and spent a lot of time hiking the trails at Mt. Rainier National Park. The sauna and hot tub really came in handy after those hikes! It was so much fun.

We stayed in the house so we all had our own rooms. We had outdoor paddocks for the horses the we could see from the yard. Trails were fun and our horses did great. There is a great country shop you can easily walk to that has everything you could want or need. Next time I will take less food and get fresh food and bakery goods from the store. We are already a trip back for 2019.

Cute place, clean and had everything we needed. I was part of the Plein Air Painters of Washington group. Penny was very kind to us. Next time I stay there I would like to have a bathroom. Thank you Penny for the relaxed atmosphere. I'm going to send a couple of paintings from your ranch. sincerely Jude Galbraith (stayed in Maverick) Penny would like to send pics but site is saying the file is too large. I could send them to a cell phone, then you can put them on the website.

This is my new favorite vacation spot! We stayed in the Trout House, which was a beautiful work of craftsmanship but still very modern. It felt very private and secluded and wa a peaceful, serene place to relax and get away from the stress of everyday life. It's still close enough to the tourist sites that you can visit them, too, if you like (golf course, adorable town, lakes, Mount Constitution, etc.). Definitely worth a visit.

There were quite a few red flags pre-snowmobile trip that I should have taken note on, notably: 1. Misinformation: I was charged 100% of the reservation after giving my credit card details over the phone. It states on their website "30% Non-Refundable Deposit required at time of reservation". 2. No email confirmation: I'm typically notified by email on pertinent details/instructions pre-visit to prep. 3. Directions to show up 15 minutes before the snowmobile ride: I've gone snowmobiling ~4+ times, and we've always had to come in 30 minutes beforehand in order to fill out any forms, pick out gear, etc. And we usually just barely leave on time (we usually don't). So prepping for 15 minutes guaranteed we left substantially later than we were supposed to. 4. Not providing gloves: Now I know this one might seem strange, but all the places that we've went provides gloves. There's a reason for this: the high speed winds and cold temperatures numb your hands in mere seconds without proper gloves. So if you've brought your flimsy fall-time gloves, expect a painful ride with potential frost-bite. I'm not even sure what would've happened if we didn't bring our own ski gloves, but I'm glad we didn't have to find out. Our lead guide's snowmobile's hand warmers weren't working, so he had to stop and pick up heavy-duty gloves from the back-guide's pack. Anyways, the worst part is that we were shortchanged on time. We ended the trip 45 minutes earlier, and as a result, probably lost out on ~20% of the value of our reservation..

Spacious compound of cabins in a great location in an amazing mountain area, but previous owners had let it run down to the extent of mold infestations. New owners have done a great job cleaning and remodeling.

Casual and comfortable. Orcas Island is a fantastic place - so quiet and peaceful. No stoplights. I stayed here alone and loved the solitude. I brought back family (another couple, and our collective 3 kids) for a long weekend and was worried the boys (9 - 16) would be bored in a place so remote and without DVDs and games, etc., but they loved it. We took the kayaks out. We discovered purple starfish. (Who knew?) They boys loved the idea of a hot tub in the woods (with a tree-filtered view of the water). We made the mistake (?) of renting the Seaside cabin for 7 people, but it was actually great. With a loft and two fold out beds/sofas, it was kind of like a sweet family sleep-over. The kids had us cracking up. We kind of had that "This is what vacation is for, huh?" moment as everyone giggled and try to doze off in that one-room renovated barn. When the men and boys slept in, my girlfriend and I took an early-morning dip and listened to the heron squwaking, flying low over water. It's just gorgeous here and so quiet. Early in the morning you can also sometimes hear a rooster across the sound, echoing over the water. The property is fantastic. It's actually on the market now for about $2.4m. They have a private dock. You walk over the grass and down the sloping high bank to get to it. A tiny beach is a good spot for a mini bonfire. We lit one up to celebrate a birthday and the tide came in to put it out. When I am here in the summer, it's so bright and glorious. And in the early spring or fall, it's sweet and foggy and brooding and peaceful and quiet. The best part about the place is that you feel like it's yours. It's your house on this island. It's so restful and the views so gorgeous. If you want low-key, and you want to hit re-set on your life and your mood, this is the place.

My wife, son (8) and I went for a 1 hour ride today. We had a chance to briefly meet the horses before getting in the saddle, which was nice as my wife and son had never ridden before. The guide's name was Teresa. We rode on Curly, Mocha and Buddy. All three were extremely docile and easy to control--the hardest part is getting them not to eat while walking. Teresa took us on a nice ride up a local mountain and back down--she is very knowledgeable about the area as well. Both my wife and son enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Thanks Sandy and Teresa (and horses)!
