Situated at the feet of the western Pyrenees near the French border, Spain's Basque country comprises three provinces: Guipúzcoa and the popular beachfront capital of San Sebastian; Viscaya, where capital Bilbao houses the jaw-dropping Gehry-designed Guggenheim Museum; and Alava, whose capital Vitoria teems with medieval architecture. Running with the bulls at Pamplona and drinking rioja from area wineries add to the region's exotic romanticism. Travel in early summer and fall to dodge the madding crowds.

Fabulous experience. Views to die for and food top notch. Absolutely essential to reserve if you want to eat on th restaurant, if not try the pintxos on the terrace as a substitute. The service was brilliant and overall the restaurant has a really positive energy.

NIce little Casa Rural in Elciego. The owner was very friendly and helpful and answered all our questions about the region. Easy to park in the street nearby. Rooms are simple and clean with all the basics at a very good price. Would stay there again. The owners don't live on the property, so it is necessary to call them when you arrive (phone numbers are listed at the front door) - they come to meet you within 15 mins.

The hotel is right on the edge of Zamudio and down a small path off the main road so it is very quiet. The property is surrounded by trees and cannot be seen from the road. The owners were very welcoming when I arrived providing information on where to go for groceries and for lunch and a drink. My room was large with a big bed, closet and desk. The floor was tiled and there were huge wooden beams both upright and across the ceiling. The bathroom was a good size. Everything was very clean. There were big windows but as it was at the back of the building and away from the afternoon sun the room was a little dark. I noticed a table and chairs outside the main window but it was too cool to sit outside in the shade that day. I struggled with the wifi which worked on and off but dropped out frequently. It was much better in the restaurant area at breakfast so possibly just doesn't stretch well to the sleeping rooms. There was a large lounge area in reception that was dark and apparently unused, possibly due to covid precautions. Breakfast is available and seems reasonably substantial - cereal, orange juice, toast, fruit, tomato, ham and so on. I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't do it justice but it is probably worth the cost. My only real complaint was around the soundproofing. I could hear guests in the room next door. Fortunately, they did not keep late hours but I did hear one get up and bump around a bit in the early hours. They probably heard me too. Overall, this is a nice place to stay with very welcoming hosts and pretty surroundings.

Rural house located between San Sebastian 8 km and Hondarrabia 12 km Ideal to arrange the sea with the mountain. Exceptional, calm, clean Panoramica and good treatment. Particular Web.
Firstly, Although this place was in the middle of nowhere, For some reason we did not get that Farmhouse vibe, No Animals perhaps ? Anyway, it was a pleasant stay. Downsides, its a million miles from anywhere good to eat , The internet, only works in the lobby, And no TV in the rooms. Apart from that it was clean , Very quiet, and good value for money

"Welcome to our home, ASTEI, a place at one with nature, offering five unique options for enjoying your holiday accommodation" He main building is a restored stone farmhouse dating from the fifteenth century that gives its name to our surroundings. The rest of the houses are crafted in wood, each one unique and with its own story. Come and discover them.
We enjoyed 4 nights in the upstairs apartment in the main building. The apartment was comfortable and spacious, and the houses were set in gardens with views of the green surrounding countryside. The local beaches were small, sandy and not crowded, with excellent waves. Mertxe was helpful with suggestions about what to do and where to go locally.

Natxiondo Land Hotel is located in Ispaster, town of the Biscayan coast and strategically placed between the three basque capitals. A typical country house, in the region called Lea-Artibai, that dates from 1764. Totally renovated in 2004, taking care with every single detail in the internal decoration, and combining tradition, design and comfort. The hotel has eight comfortable rooms, all of them equipped for the enjoyment of our guests. We offer breakfasts and dinners.
This is a beautiful facility that was remodeled with every detail in mind and yet it is very affordable. The two memorable men that own it couldn’t have made our visit more fun. And meeting Maria Carmen was a highlight! Dinner and breakfast were wonderful. Take the time to drive to this out of the way mountain retreat. You won’t regret it!

Arkaia Farmhouse is a charming property which is just a stone's throw away from the Basque Country capital, Vitoria-Gasteiz.A place where the traveller will be able to relax and unwind in a rural environment. Arkaia Farmhouse is the result of a meticulous and painstaking restoration of a building which originally dates from the 19th century, preserving the traditional architecture, resulting in a cottage with a capacity for 4-9 people and which is comfortable, modern, fully accessible, sustainable and committed to the environment.

We stayed for 5 nights, myself, partner and 18month old baby. The cot supplied was free of charge and comfortable for the baby, she liked it. Even though the owner didn't speak English (and I don't speak Spanish) we managed to understand each other and get by. The room was basic, but clean and big - room for the baby to play. We also had access to a dining room, fridge and microwave to make snacks and meals as we wanted. Our room also had a lovely sea view. Breakfast was also included in the price, which was a good continental breakfast - toast, ham and croissants. It was a quiet, relaxing place to stay - and a good base to go to Zumaia, Getaria and San Sebastián. We also drove to France, Saint Jean de Luz. Suitable for families/children

Last year we spend our honey moon in this happy and quiet house.Nice beaches and woods and excellent food. There are also a lot of animals in the farm (including an enormous howl!) Unforgetable and thanks for your kind welcome. The breakfast are great :)
