Way too expensive for a very old facility which made everything look dirty...even if it wasn't Bed felt like plywood, toilet so tiny and low to the floor, tile dirty, old decor, poor breakfast options were all carbs.

The Red Caboose offers a unique Strasburg, PA lodging experience for families, couples, or train history enthusiasts. The Red Caboose Motel is located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. We are surrounded by Amish Farms, The Strasburg Railroad, The Railroad Museum and many more Lancaster County attractions. The Red Caboose Motel features 47 rooms consisting of cabooses, a baggage car, and a post office car (many newly restored). On-site restaurant, Casey Jones' Restaurant , located in a 1920's era Pennsylvania Railroad Coach.
Quite an unusual 'motel room'; fun experience. They are working hard to restore old, old cabooses, so keep that in mind but so worth it! Incredible LOCATION; 'everything' was within 10minutes! We went to see the production of 'David' at the Sight and Sound Theater and never expected to take a ride on the Penn Railroad or to have a Amish man plowing his fields with horses right off the restaurant deck. Beautiful farms and so cool to see and hear the buggies 'drive' by so often. Casey Jones has great food and cool gift shop. We also went to the Magic & Wonder Theater in Paradise; what a quite show too! And the Kitchen Kettle Village is great!

The NEW Motel 6 in Erie has been completely remodeled and upgraded to Motel 6's award-winning design and sustainability standards. Offering ground floor, non-smoking guestrooms, with secure private entrances on brightly lit grounds. Also, there is an on-site truck parking- you've got to see how cool economy lodging can be!
Worst place ever. Save your money and go to any number of real hotels in Erie. The manager refused to honor my reservation because I wouldn't show him a SECOND credit card after making the reservation with my wife's card. Btw, my wife's credit score is well over 800. He acted like a spoiled child, told me "you blew it" and ordered me off the property. When I insisted on checking in he called the police on me and hid in his office until they arrived (about a half hour), thereby ensuring none of the 20 people in the lobby could check in. The police are very familiar with him and apologized to me for the hassle. Repeated emails to Motel6 corporate were ignored. Save yourself a major headache and reserve at a substantially better hotel (which, quite honestly, is almost anywhere else).

This motel is a little bit run down but it is clean and the staff is helpful and they have an exercise room with weights and elliptical and treadmill. Coffee seems to be available around the clock. And breakfast is typical of breakfast that are provided free at motels. I would definite stay here again. We could not beat the price. They charged $25 for our dog and other places charge $50.

Thank you Travelers Rest Motel for your hospitality. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and well-kept, and the mini fridge was ice cold! I also loved the heat lamp in the bathroom. In addition, we got to enjoy the nice weather out back at the fire pit prior to our departure. Such a beautiful view!! We stayed at the Carriage House, as an alternatate to the high price of staying in Lancaster. We were attending our doughter's college lacrosse team's bid in the NCAA DIII tournament in May 2022 at Franklin Marshall in Lancaster. It was only a 20 minute drive. Anyway the stay was great, accomodations really nice, staff courteous, and we used the breakfast voucher for a great breakfast at the Speckled Hen across the street. And to top it off, we left two articles of clothing in the room and the hotel manager went out of his way to mail us the clothing. Thanks, Debbie and David

We chose this hotel because of (1) location, as it's not too far from the Reading Airport, for the World War II Weekend, and (2) for a reasonable price. Positive things: very comfortable king bed; clean surfaces in room; free Wi-Fi; free breakfast with a variety of choices; all personnel were polite. Negative things: small bathroom, with no sink; toilet didn't flush properly; slow Wi-Fi; love seat covered in what felt and sounded like thick plastic. And no one came to clean the room until very late in the afternoon, when we were back and trying to relax, I assume from staffing issues.
