While Atlanta is the anchor and capital of Georgia, you can aim in any direction to find distinctly different regions – from the tail of the Appalachians in the North to the rolling Piedmont hills and on down to the seaside marshes in the East. Atlanta lays claim to the state’s number one attraction – Stone Mountain State Park. They say it best - “Serious fun. Endless adventure.” Just 15 minutes from downtown, the world’s largest exposed granite dome is surrounded by 3,200 acres of natural beauty and stimulating activities for every member of the family – sky rides and hiking paths, laser shows and pedal boats along Stone Mountain Lake. Golfers tee it up, while red foxes dash across the fairways in a state where the Masters Golf Tournament creates revered green-jacket memories every year. It’s a long downhill ride down to historic Savannah, a ‘stone’s throw’ from the Atlantic and a virtual step back in time to Southern architecture and stately squares. St. Simon’s and Jekyll Islands offer barrier island beauty and a wonderful combination of outdoor activities, historic sites and artistic culture. Originally the private winter playground of wealthy northeasterners, Jekyll Island stretches along 10 miles of coastal beaches and inland marshes. Cycling and walking paths wind under moss-laden oaks, and a tour of Millionaire Village takes you back to those Cornelius Vanderbilt and J.P. Morgan days. The kid-friendly Summer Waves Water Park adds man-made fun to natural water sport activities. Coastal golf courses and sophisticated St. Simon’s Island appeal to moms, dads and vacationing couples.

This was our second stay in this motel. We stayed in a 2 bed room for 1 night while driving home from Florida. We love the convenience of backing the car right up to the door of our room for easy unloading. Also, because if the direct access to the outside, it’s possible to air out the room, an extra safety measure in these Covid times. There’s nothing fancy about the room, but the beds are comfortable and everything is clean. The staff was very friendly. We always travel with a small white noise machine, so the highway traffic sounds were not a problem for us.

PROS: Convenient location Friendly staff Breakfast included High shower heads Comfortable bed Clean and quiet room Microwave, fridge and coffee maker in the room CONS: Fitness room out of service due to a fire No ice machines on our floor, taken out (although we found out they still have ice on the 2nd and 5th floors so it is available just not convenient) Elevator issues Horrible door! -room 807 Glazed windows- NO outside view No disclosure (written or verbal) about the $40 per night deposit! We chose to pay for an upper room so we would have a “better” view but the windows are heavily glazed so there is NO view…huh? We also chose a hotel with a fitness room specifically so I could do PT while my husband is at his conference but the fitness room is out of commission (not showing that on the website)! We are here for 7 nights and they didn’t disclose on the website nor at check-in about the $40 PER NIGHT “deposit”. My questions are these: 1) Why charge a longer term guest a higher deposit? If someone is the type of person who will cause damage, can’t they cause the same amount in one night? Why am I charged 7 times as much?!?! 2) How can they charge us this “deposit” without written nor verbal disclosure? I have searched the website and our confirmation email and it wasn’t disclosed. They claim it isn’t charged to the card unless necessary but instead of a pending approval, at check-in they charged to our credit card $1800+ instead of the $1500+ that we were expecting (and which our email confirmation stated). Avoid room 807 unless they fix the door! The door is sagging so it is very, very difficult to open and to close without throwing your body weight at the door! It should be an easy fix: a new, tighter upper hinge or sanding the opening or the door should be sufficient to make the door easier to open and close. I feel sorry for nearby rooms due to the horribly loud thud each time we have to close the door with force. The elevator issues have been partly taken care of. The first day there was only 1 of the 3 elevators working! As much as I wanted exercise, I don’t see well enough to do 8 floors of stairs so we had to wait and wait. Thankfully a second elevator is now in service so the wait time has improved. Our first evening we found a nearby cafe called The Food Shoppe. Their Creole Chicken Pasta was fantastic! The jambalaya was ok but the pasta is worth going back. We plan to return this week.

Stained bedding, stained and poorly maintained bathroom, room smelled like cigarettes, toilet kept making noise, could find other guests shirtless and shoeless walking hanging out in the parking lot, pretty noisy due to the proximity of the rooms to the parking. Will not stay there again.

This hotel was a below average hotel to stay in. We were put in a hearing impaired room. Neither one of us has a hearing problem and I did not request for this type of room. The bedding was not impressive. It did not look anything like the pictures on their website. The telephone in the room did not work and the clock would not function properly. I could not set it. It just blink. They serviced a very basic breakfast. The front desk personnel did not tell me that the room will not be service (bed will be made and replacement of towels). We were staying for two nights. This hotel does not have lounge area. We were given an unfair room.

Rented a "Small King" room. When you walk in, the bed is 3-4 feet from the door. There was no closet. The only sitting room was the bed or at the small wood table that had 2 wood chairs. The air conditioner is on the wall too high to reach controls w/o standing on chair.

We were both pleasantly surprised. Rooms appear to have been recently updated, veery well done for a budget motel. Firm bed, cold AC clean room & bathroom. Hot water can be scalding, be careful. Plenty of water pressure in the shower, soaps and shampoo were good. Towels were soft, absorbent cotton. AC unit was a bit noisy but not offensive or loud enough to prevent sleep.

The staff was very rude and got annoyed when asked questions. She charged me twice, but told me to talk to the bank without any apologies. When I told her I had to dispute one of the transaction, all she said was “that’s fine”. I paid $137 for one night, but the room was just okay and my room was near the door so I could hear people come in and out all night. Breakfast was okay. *It was not an authorization charge. I used a different card for authorization and the card I am referring to was charged twice. I have talked to the bank.
