Hike through the mountains, or venture out on a deep sea fishing or whale watching excursion. We stayed here two nights after arriving in Anchorage for a cruise. Honestly it was much nicer than the Westmark that the Cruiseline had booked for the first official night of the tour. It was immaculately clean, good breakfast, quick airport service, and everyone was very nice.

We stayed twice during our recent Alaska trip. The hotel is conveniently located for the airport and AMH ferry port but they wouldn't organize a pick up until the very last minute (ie we had to have actually docked before they would send out the shuttle, even though it is a 10 min drive from the hotel). The rooms were ok in size but dark and there were maintenance issues on both our stays - first time, toilet water kept on running after flushing, 2nd time we were missing a bedside lamp and towel hooks on the bathroom door). Front desk staff didn't even smile, and one of the shuttle drivers (Danny) didn't even bother to say "hello." "Breakfast" was just coffee plus some biscuits, and not kept replenished. However, there is a MacDonald's right next door. We'd booked through bookings.com but they added an extra "tax." Not a huge amount but still, irritating, as the confirmation had said the figure is all we would be paying. Only stay if you have an early flight out.

We have stayed at the Creekwood many times over the past eleven years. Our last trip was three years ago and it was fantastic. We went with our camper and stayed there for three days and could not believe how bad the place has become. The men's shower was filthy! There were USED bandages in both of the shower stalls!!!! Someone had cut their hair and the hair was on the floor all three days as well. The three days we stayed there, they were not cleaned at all. The women's shower was just as bad. One shower did not work and the other was filthy, and a toilet was overflowing and full of waste and would not flush. All through the night, there was cars, trucks and motorcyles stopping by an RV, spending a few moments there then leaving. You can draw your own conclusions as to what was going on there but I am sure it was drug dealing. There were homeless people constantly walking through the campground as well. We will NEVER stay there again.

Staff here is wonderful and caring. We thought we were staying at an RV park, but come to find out none were open yet. Last minute choice we ended up where we had stayed before but this time with our dog. They took us in with no problems and even ensured that our dog would be comfortable. There are a lot of choices of places to stay in Soldotna, but I would try this one FIRST.

Internet was very slow, but otherwise it was very good! The staff was shorthanded, but picked up the slack and were great! Good location, near dive shop and supermarket! Just a short drive from the airport ferry, and down town.

I walked to touristy shops and restaurants from this hotel which was nice. When I was able to speak with the front desk directly it was easy to schedule a shuttle to the airport. I'm a fairly patient guy but even I raised an eyebrow at level of service here. Towels are by request and threadbare. Still, its a good price and the bed was clean.

The room was scrupulously clean with amenities including microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine and fuzzy blanket. The room was lovely with pine paneling and a big picture window overlooking the lake with breathtaking mountain view. There is a porch with chairs and benches and a table that overlooks the water with mountain view. Not all rooms face the water so you may want to request that. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

We arrived early afternoon only to be told we would have to return after 4 pm as they were still cleaning rooms and were fully booked. So, we drove up to Denali National Park to tour for the next several hours. However, we noticed when we returned after 8 pm, we noticed there were many empty rooms-some with "river views" that we had requested in our booking. My husband and I were unable to open the assigned room with the card and had to walk to the bar requesting help. A very drunk bar patron shouted at him, "Hey, get from behind the bar!" My husband was afraid of being hit by the unruly character with no one to jump in to save him. Finally, the bar tender left his post to assist us to get into the room. We did not feel safe and put a chair, our large suitcase against the door so that we might feel not so threatened. I would not recommend that place to anyone a it was expensive, not a good value and located in a junky tourist trap town. The five star review is not warranted by serious in the know travelers.
