We felt warmly welcome at Dinesh Resort. Dinesh cared us and it was easy to communicate/catch on him. Dinesh gave many useful information to us how to travel around Udawalawe. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and there were many local/special meals in front of us. Our room was a little bit hot because we had a room without A/C. We can recommend Dinesh, no doubt.

We had a great time at Hotel Ethgira. They offered very friendly and professional service since the inception I made the inquiry. Also the foods were very delicious. The hotel was very clean and had good space in the rooms. Nice bathing area. As well as the hotel is very close to Udawalawe forest and they provide Safari facility. We had a nice Safari with a friendly driver. Highly recommended.

Before departing to Sri lanka, I was already watsapp communicating with Kuma, making arrangements and he did everything and more. His lodge is very comfortable and located right outside the only entrance of Udawalawe National Park. We initially wanted a full day in the Park, but he recommended something even better! Because of his knowledge and experience, he knows how much time is necessary to spend at the park without tiring us out under the sun. So early in the morning, he put us on his jeep and brought us to a lake for a River Safari. We really enjoy this morning trip, listening to the birds while waiting for sunrise on a misty clean lake. After lunch and a short break, we went to the baby elephants transition centre. And to end the day with the offroad safari trip in the park with an amazing sunset was just perfect start of our trip! Kuma’s lodge in the village is equipped with necessities to ensure that we are comfortable at all times. Homecooked Breakfast by his mama was so good that we ended up having lunch and dinner at his place too! Kuma works from the heart, and he made us feel thst he sincerely cared for us. In this difficult times for the people in the country, the locals strive on, continue to work hard, take it in their strides and carry on. It was pretty admirable.

Night stay in the Jungle in a tastefull equipped big canvass tent. What a whow experience. The place is very clean, beds are good, equipped with mosquito net. Shower is working without complain. Absolutely gorgeous breakfast. What a pity, that we didn't have dinner here. The young land lady is great. 6 out of 5 stars from my point of view.

If you’re staying in Udawalawa do yourself a favour and stay at Udawalawa nature park. The hospitality from the whole family is amazing. We almost felt guilty with how generous and hospitable they were. Nothing was ever too much, they would do everything they could to ensure our stay was perfect. Perfect it was. From the organisation of our safari( book through them) the driver is so knowledgeable and will go out of his way to give you a great experience (Seems to be a reoccurring theme) to the food. The food is Amazing! It was delicious and there was an abundance of it. We had dinner and breakfast there, we couldn’t finish either even though we tried as it was so yummy. You get a lovely, warm Sri Lankan experience with a lovely family who genuinely care and want to play their role in making a small part of your Sri Lankan experience memorable. For us they definitely did that. The rooms were clean, bathroom’s great, everything worked well. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks so much!

We arrived a little early and were given tea on the terrace whilst they finished preparing the rooms. Friendly couple made us feel very welcome. The rooms were clean, and tidy, the food was excellent. No pressure to book safari as others have inferred, although their quote for a taxi to Talpe was nearly double the one we booked online through Udawalawe taxi. The husband took our companions to the elephant orphanage to watch the feeding and didn't overcharge for the tuktuk ride. The jungle at the bottom of the garden gave a good view of 2 types of monkey, monitor lizard and a host of other wonderful sounds of the wild. I would have liked to stay longer.
