Maybe your local zoo has lions, leopards, zebras or elephants. Maybe they even have wildebeest. But we bet they don't have 1.3 million wildebeest—never mind 1.3 million wildebeest in migration, with predators in hot pursuit. It's one of the most awesome sights in nature, and you can see it at Masai Mara in southwestern Kenya.

With two different lodges on offer at Olarro, guests can choose between a secluded hilltop haven and a lodge meticulously planned to offer uninterrupted savannah views. While each opulent outpost offers a very different perspective, both escapes promise privileged safari views. Our luxury lodges lie within Olarro’s very own 20,000-acre wilderness – owned entirely by us, open only to our guests.
i love everything about this place !!amazing staff, perfect price-budget and actually the camp is located near Mara River in the southern sector of the Mara Triangle. The campsite is cool for small group and has splendid view of the Mara River. It has good access road and the best part is that it is not far from wildebeest crossing points. We had a great time there. Read less

Overlooking the Talek River, at the very confluence of Mara’s four game-viewing areas, Mara Intrepids Camp enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the world’s best-known wilderness.
The experience was beyond our expectations, we were wowed by almost everything and everyone?. Most of the tents have breathtaking views of Talek River, the sounds of the river sings lullaby to you and the hippos offers the wake up call to you. The standards on food, house keeping, game drives and the rest of the amenities are just perfect, we are already looking forward to sending our guests your way to experience the same. Special thanks to Mr Kevin Achungo and his team for the incredible pampering (can't forget to mention Geofrey and his team at Mara Explorer, Simon the guide, Mary, Duncan among others)...amazing team. The Bush breakfast was just amazing! We highly recommend Mara Intrepids and Mara Explorer, already looking forward to our next stay.

This camp is a small, beautifully run camp. The attention to detail is fantastic, the staff amazing & the food delicious. We loved the personalised attention we received. We loved that we had the same room attendant, Gideon, who was fantastic... Even getting up at 4am to make sure we had coffee before our trip out. Isaac, our guide was wonderful. We saw so many animals & learnt so much from him. He catered to our every need & suggested activities that we may like. His enthusiasm for his park & the camp was very evident. i would recommend this camp highly & hope to return one day.

The Royal Mara is a luxury safari and game viewing lodge located in Kenya's world famous Masai Mara, home to the annual Great Migration of the Wildebeest. We are situated directly on the Mara River with eight riverfront guest suites. All suites are raised upon wooden decks with full mahogany flooring and original hand carved furniture. See the same wildlife-rich areas as broadcast on the BBC Big Cat Diary.
We had an amazing time here! The staff were so courteous and thoughtful...truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. James, our safari guide, was incredible! He knew exactly where to go to see animals. We saw a leopard, elephants, lion cubs, hippos, cheetahs and so much more! Our accomodation was peaceful, clean, and very comfortable and safe. We stayed in number 7 and had a remarkable view from our porch. We loved it here!

The property is excellent with all facilities one could expect at a five star hotel. To find that inside the Mara was a delightful experience. Chef Juma Musili obviously lead the F&B production team to an exotic menu catering for all needs. It was very well executed by Chef Kennedy Aluvi. Of particular delight was Chef Moses Bonaya who not only made excellent pasta and pancakes at the live counter but also played excellent guitar and sang for guests. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and comfortable. However no slippers and shaving kit was provided. Neither was there a safe deposit. But the bed was excellent and so was the view from window. The swimming pool provided excellent recreational facilities and also mesmerising view of sunrise over Mara. Overall the staff was very friendly and always eager to help. Two particular team member Denis Meangi and Patricia were worthy of mention. Payments only by credit cards and local currency. No US $. Lastly, Airtel network including 4G was available throughout the Masai Mara National Park!

Maji Moto Eco Camp blends beautifully with the natural environment. All the facilities are built in a local Masai style with natural materials. There is no generator in the camp. We kept the thinks simple and traditional, with candles, lanterns and camp fire in the evening. Fresh food supplies are broth from Narok town with every arrival including fresh locally grown vegetables and fruits. All meals are prepared simply but delicious by a camp cook, blending traditional Kenyan and international cuisine.
I spent 2 days in Maji Moto Eco Camp and enjoyed every second. The Loita Hills are beautiful. The food is delicious. The tent and facilities are comfortable and at the same time eco friendly. The Masai hosts are welcoming and very professional. We took walks during which they talked about their culture and I could ask all the questions I wanted. They also explained what the different trees and plants are good for. I could participate in a warrior training and also saw how they make fire. I highly recommend this place and hope to be back one day.

Mara River Camp is a classic tented camp tucked away on the banks of Mara River. The intimate and relaxed atmosphere gives you the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience in the prime wildlife area of the Maasai Mara.Mara River Camp offers guests an unparalleled setting that is created by combining unique architecture and structure, expressive decor and artistry and magnificent features all in
Of all the places we’ve traveled to-date, the Maasai Mara by far makes up the Top 3 favourite places on our East Africa list! The minute you step out of the little airplane, it hits you – the relaxed “majestic” atmosphere, laidback smiling people, the smell of the warm Mara air. All of a sudden all your stress is taken away and you are instantly in “vacation mode”. Mara River Camp is situated a few minutes drive from the Kichwa Tembo airstrip. There are few tents scattered throughout providing loads of privacy, all facing the river and encompassed by the vivid greenery of the African bush. Keep your eyes open for buffalos, zebras, baboons and giraffes roaming and grazing on the other side of the river. Hippos and crocodiles are in abundance in the water down below and lazing on the river banks. Right behind of it all is the shared area with a massive sparkling swimming pool (not common at most camps in the Mara) and sun beds available to guests. It is the perfect way to cool down after a long hot day of game drives. This was a huge + for us. In addition to each beautifully decorated tent having its own terrace, there are few shared decks and terraces scattered around the Mara River Camp. The main terrace, overlooking the river, has tables and chairs you can use to have an outdoor breakfast, lunch or dinner with a spectacular view. The chef served us delicious food and he embraced any special requests that we made. Not only did he ensure our food cravings were properly satisfied, he always came out to greet us with a friendly demeanour and smile. Mara River Camp is a super-clean place – cleaning is done every day. The garden is simply magical. Well maintained and blooming, it is full of birds, mongoose and zebras! The barman is a great friend to a few bush babies who comes out every night to say hello and to get a little snack. Ezechiel (GM) provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around. He went way beyond to make our long-weekend comfortable and memorable. The game drives and our guide Priver was absolute top notch! Priver was very accommodating and very quick to respond with any questions. He really went out of his way to show us the best of the Mara! Lots of small things added up making this trip to Mara River Camp a memorable and beautiful experience. From the scenery, accommodation, food, the staff hospitality, knowledge and storytelling. I would highly recommend this camp to anyone looking for a unique and special experience. Thank you Mara River Camp and staff. We will be back soon! 5 Stars

Well hidden in the beautiful greenery of riverine forest, Mara Ngenche Safari Camp offers panoramic views over the confluence of the Mara and Talek Rivers overlooking a hippo pool that is always busy with these beautiful large animals with crocodiles always in close proximity. The 10 spacious well appointed tents are en-suite and decorated with an amazing fusion of modern African decor with old world charm. Each tent is partially enclosed in its own "Boma." has a large four poster king size bed or two queen size beds, offers wonderful view on the river and is equipped with a large bath tub and outside shower. Mara Ngenche Safari Camp is unfenced and is designed to allow the exciting movement of animals through the grounds offering an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere for experiencing the full adventure of the African bush. In addition each tent has its own private plunge pool.
We were a family of 4 adults and one child and we had an exceptional time here. Upon arrival, all of us were asked to wash our hands and sanitize and wait in the small receiving room. We were welcome with an avocado/tree tomato juice while our stay was explained. Meals had to be pre-ordered in advance and were excellent. The rooms were very luxurious and the claw foot tub was just amazing to soak in after a day of game drives. Our rooms had a plunge pool which was clean and well kept. The camp is a bit further away from the rest of the hotels but is right on the river. You get to see game while you're at breakfast because of this. The staff was professional and very pleasant and we felt very safe. Truly a hidden gem!
