Ancient tradition and contemporary trend meet in age-old London. One of the most cosmopolitan and dynamic destinations on earth, for centuries the British capital has been on the forefront of whatever has been deemed cutting edge, en vogue, and topical. A thriving metropolis of several million people with a global reach and a worldly outlook, London is at its heart a series of small, interconnected villages with the framework and infrastructure of a modern city joining them together, yet seldom denying each its own distinctive character.

Several positives - checked in at 1 pm by Geoff (Jeff?) who was very helpful. He passed on helpful information about local transport. Great location for Emirates Stadium, easy to park for free. Negatives- the toilet would not flush. There was the remains of a plastic push button on top of the cistern that would not operate. Water entered the cistern and continued to leave it as quickly. My wife tried to fix it at midnight after watching a great concert at the Emirates. It was not possible to fix it so we turned the water off, hoping the lack of noise would allow us to sleep. When she got into bed she felt a sharp scratch in her back. A mattress spring, with a barbed end was sticking through the mattress. This could easily have caused a nasty injury requiring a tetanus jab.

Not impressed with this hotel. Rooms nothing like as described. Insisted we were in a Savannah deluxe but it was a tiny panic room with no windows. Room pics showed it was top floor with velux windows!! Wrong square footage listed and certainly did not have a lounge area or microwave!?? No reception after 3pm and ignored "emergency phone". Room also stunk of canabis which they admitted and had charged previous guest. It should have been aired properly before being used! Moved us for 2nd night (even though they insisted we had the correct size room to start). This room WAS on top floor, with windows but still very basic. Lower level rooms VERY noisy. Beds not comfortable. Old sprung type mattresses. Clean but basic and misleading. A VERY disappointing anniversary stay and the hotel have refused outright to reduce our room rate for the first night in the bad room!

There was no running water in the room or in the toilets. When I informed the manager about it, he just sent me a video of some water pipes and didn’t get it fixed during the whole stay and offered no alternative. The toilet had been used previous to my arrival and it was left full of faeces for me to find. Of course there was no water so i wasnt even able to flush this DISGUSTING MESS! After I left in the morning (with no shower) I asked the host to give my money back, they refused to give any money back and instead asked me to leave a positive review before they will consider any kind of refund. This is obviously really unprofessional (actually unbelieveable) and I have no clue how this guy is even able to be listed on booking.com. The guy later told me they had refunded everyone except me because I was refusing to leave a positive review. I said it’s unprofessional to blackmail me like that but they proceeded to send me a bunch of screenshots showing refund details of other guests - including all guests names and booking references!!!! I don’t think they have heard about GDPR or data protection. They should not be selling these rooms to anyone, what they are doing is illegal and deserves jail time for data breaches!

Last week we stayed here in an apartment at the front of the building and it was great. This week unfortunately we are in apartment 4. It is stiflingly hot and there is no fan. The bed is very small and I do not know how we will both fit into it. The floor is dirty covered in crumbs, the space is tiny and the window which only opens at the top looks onto a wall. It is utterly dreadful and I would like to change hotel but there is a no cancellation policy and we are stuck here for two nights and worst of all we are booked in next week again with a no cancellation policy. It is dreadful… feeling very miserable about this choice of accommodation.

Inn
There are 7 rooms over 2 floors that sit above the Grange Pub. It's on a main road, my room was at the back and was very quiet for London. I had a single room, which was a decent size. Comfortable bed, desk and TV and open wardrobe. Coffee and tea making facilities outside in a shared space on the landing. There are no en-suites with three WC facilities shared over the two floors, (WC, WC and shower, WC and bath). Decent Wi-Fi. No breakfast. Location wise a little way out and in a primarily inner city residential area. It is near the The Arch Climbing Wall - which was why I chose it. Overall decent place and decent value.

The actual stay: We were given a small, dated room filled with shabby old furniture, a dangerous slippery rug on a wooden floor and a spare bed base stored in it. We had to share a tiny lavatory with the rest of the guests in the accommodation. Next morning, the hosts marched into my room with breakfast in the morning while I was still half asleep with no respect for my privacy. Please also make sure you are aware this is a family home with pets and NOT an actual establishment operating exclusively as a hotel/b&b... and you are expected to depart no later than 10.00am sharp. Afterwards: I posted my honest feelings in a review on Google and the host replied with malicious lies, accusing me of damaging the property and attempting to leave without paying, both totally untrue accusations (see my booking.com receipt attached.) So in my opinion, this tells you everything you need to know about his character and I recommend you stay away from this place.

I booked this lodge due to the location been really close to my work. When i arrived it was hard to tell if it was the hotel. There was no sign or anything. I ws checked in reallu quick and got to my room number 4. It ws every small and basic but was ok for just me, it has a small bathroom with a shower. The main concern was the only window for the room went into ther reception so I had no fresh air coming in and it was in the late 20s so I was red hot all night. The room as basic but ok for just one night. If you park in car park it's 3 pound extra but it's worth it.

Recently booked a room with this property. Worst decision ever. This was meant to be just a place to sleep overnight but it changed drastically after the first glance. Before arriving, we were going to be coming past 6pm, so they requested a payment to be made in advance and proof emailed over so they can get a key ready. Once arrived, this was how to say, in a very unsure neighbourhood. The key was left on the notice board upon entrance. We were assigned room 66. This room is on the top floor which is 5th floor with stairs as steep as the hills. If you have a lot of luggage with you, please reconsider as you will not be able to carry it up without hurting yourself. Once we made it up to the room, the door was so stuck it needed a bit of force just to open up. The room was NOTHING like advertised on booking.com who still have not come back to us about this shocking room. The room had 2 towels, with no hand towel in the bathroom. The shower was full of limescale and the bathroom door would not open fully. If you are taller than 5”5 you will not be able to sit down on the toilet without bashing your knees. The room was dirty, no cleaning has been done at all. No minimum health and safety standards have been met despite being in a global pandemic. Quite honestly speaking, it was so awful we booked another room to stay that same night as it was not secure and unhygienic. Would not be visiting any time soon. Checked the reviews for this place from previous occupants and the damp on all of the walls is still there despite years going by. I understand small marks and damages, but this is just unhygienic and quite honestly disgusting. AVOID!!!
