A modern city in the south of Taiwan, Kaohsiung shifts from ancient to contemporary culture with ease. Don't miss the breathtaking Fo Guang Shan monastery and its hall of giant Buddhas. Dream Mall, the largest shopping mall in Taiwan, has a Ferris wheel on the roof. Drive to Kenting National Park for beautiful landscapes.

I consider the Wuhoo House somewhere between a hotel and B&B. We stayed here for a night during our short visit from Taipei to Kaoshiung. The hotel is easy to find once you get off the MRT. From the Central Park MRT station is about a 10 minute walk with various shops and a small night market in between. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within a 400m radius from the hotel so location is awesome. The only other thing that was not quite I would have expected is the fact that the entire check in process is self-served. This means that if you don't speak the language or you are unfamiliar with the city then the typical asking a hotel staff for suggestions and tips is not an option. The place is not staffed by anyone and there is only a number you can call for inquiries. Our experience with that is they are responsive but I would say not in a manner where it matters. I have read other reviews here that suggests otherwise where they said the owner of the place was very friendly but that was definitely not my experience when I was trying to solve my issue of storing my bags the next day after I check out and before my train. In the end, someone called me back and said we can leave our bags on the ground floor next to the lockers where we get our room keys but they are unattended. This probably won't be an option for any travelers regardless of not leaving valuables in your bags. Self-serve check in was seamless as they would send you detailed instructions like code and what not on the day of check in and the entire thing is quite straight forward. The furnishings were modern and I am personally fine with it. The bathroom has all the basic amenities you need but is what i said a bare minimum. The rooms are fairly large and quite easy fit a group of 4. We had two double beds and a sofa next to it with a small balcony in the room. It is also possible that I booked this in a last minute so the room rates weren't the on the cheap end where I believe this hotel should be priced at. The rate I paid was average priced relative to other places in the city. Perhaps we could have gotten something a bit better hospitality for the same rate elsewhere. At the end of the day, I have no real issues with it and the location was more than fine. I would though however say that this is something that backpackers or group of friends would enjoy staying rather than family and couples.

Everything from booking to check in was very smooth. Staff are extremely professional and explain all facilities. Water purifiers on every 2nd floor are greatly appreciated (reducing plastic water bottles) as well as the water jug in each room which keeps water temperature cold or hot for hours. Coin laundry available, wifi is fast, everything is tastefully decorated and rooms are immaculate. We will be staying here on all future visits.

About 100 meters from the Kaohsiung train station, alleys, quiet, convenient, quality accommodation Kaohsiung railway station is just 1 minute walk Museum offers a full WIFI, personal power, reading lamp, locker Rooms located on floors 1, 2, free climbing Famous five-star hotel mattresses, heating and cooling, duvets No access control, magnetic card access 3 toilets and 4 showers space
The hostel itself is nice and the office is very good, but I can't tolerate to sleep in sheets where someone else has superior before and with somebody else's hair on my pillow! The owner is ok, nor ride bout very polite, but the problem with the sheets is really too much. I'd prefer to pay a bit more but have clean sheets!! The location is good, near the station and the centre.
