The Farmhouse Lodge on the south coast of Iceland. Whether enjoying a day journey to us taking in the highlights of Icelandic nature on your way to elsewhere or spending your holiday experiencing the south coast the Farmhouse Lodge is conveniently located only 170 km from Reykjavik. This is a family run enterprise in a renovated old farmhouse on Skeidflot. We are 10 minutes away from Vik i Myrdal, where there are found Restaurants and more service. Popular sites to see in the surrounding are is Skogarfoss waterfall, Reynisfjara black sand beach, Solheimajokull glacier and Dyrholay island.
Was very pleasantly surprised by this place. The stay was reasonably priced, the rooms were spacious and modern and the bathroom was huge. The only thing I can complain about is that there was no ventilation, so it quickly became humid and bad air unless you opened the window. (Which I prefer not to do when it's minus degrees). Beyond this, everything was absolutely great. The breakfast was small and cozy, and contained the essentials as well as waffles which were yummy. The staff was also very nice.

We stayed 2 nights at the lovely guesthouse Skorrahestar. Thea and Doddi were so kind with us. Thea shared her knowledge of the local area and more distant places, of Iceland and also her own stories. We really felt like at home and as we were friends. Thank you so very much for the very warm welcome and your kindness.

Hotel Skálholt is a cosy and comfortable country hotel with an incredible mountain and river view on the Golden Circle route in South Iceland. The hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway, business trips and for various groups that want to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the peacefulness of the area. At Hotel Skálholt, we want you to get the homely feel of the countryside and enjoy our great service as we try our best to make all of our guests feel welcome. We have 18 spacious rooms that all have 2 beds, a breakfast buffet, a cosy sitting area with a fireplace, a solarium and a hall that is great for various events such as seminars, conferences, concerts, yoga and more. The hotel offers a restaurant and a bar where we offer local drinks and cuisine made from fresh produce that we work well with growers and food producers in the area and showcase with our cooking and work the best that the farms have to offer. The hotel is situated on a landmark in Skálholt that was once the Capital of Iceland. It's also in a great location when it comes to taking daytrips to attractions in the Golden Circle, the South Coast and the highlands of Iceland. The hotel and restaurant offers free Wi-fi to all of it's guests.
Hotel Skalholt is placed in beautiful, picturesque setting and run by the friendliest host I have ever encountered, Gigi. Gigi welcomed our group of 5 into 3 well-appointed rooms at the last minute, after our booking at another local hotel fell-through. When we arrived Higi showed us to our rooms and gave us a tour of her beautiful property. She has been working hard to design and crest a space for tired travelers to unwind. Surrounding this hotel there is an adorable indoor restaurant a beautiful church, grass-topped cabin, and nature for miles (or Meters). Thank you to Gigi and her staff for the amazing hospitality and accomodating our last-minute 3 room request. Our stay with you was a highlight of our Iceland Adventure!

I had an impromptu stay in Seyðisfjörður after the first snow of the season had made Route 93 back to Egilsstaðir through the mountains impassable for the night with my vehicle. I stopped my Media Luna in search of available rooms for the night, and the staff was very kind and accommodating. He explained the usual plowing schedule for the town, and showed me around the guesthouse. Easy to get around with a common fridge | kitchen area, and all the rooms accessible through one central hallway. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were, being very clean and spacious with a nice and modern private bathroom. Great color scheme with browns and forest greens as well. I'm very appreciative for the accommodation, which made an unexpected hiccup into a nice detour during my Ring Road trip! I will certainly be staying here again if I visit Iceland again and am looking for somewhere to stay in Seyðisfjörður. Takk!

We loved this place. Our room and all the facilities were super clean. We even got a TV in our room. The staff was super welcoming, and the breakfast that we ordered was more than we hoped for. We were able to take some for the road. Definitely recommend.
