Le Flourou is a gite, it is like a hotel. It means that you are welcome in a friendly, simple way and we provide you dinner, night and breakfast. You might share a room or be independant in a double room all furnished with bathroom. welcome at le Flourou and let us enjoy your coming home. See you
We have just stayed 6 nights at Gite Flourou.. not only was it charming, relaxed & clean, but also ideal for us. We like to travel with liberty, we also know what we like/prefer to eat & when. Its flexible here, there is the use of a simple kitchen space for guests who might wish to self cater, ( no kettle, but I boiled water in the pan on a very fast halogen hob, plug for a kettle tho..) I could make my own pots of tea. They offer reasonably priced dinners; at 7pm, or left for you. A studio space on ground floor with modern wood effect floor for Mat-Exercising. From the experience of our room, suggest additional plug in clip light for reading if your eyes are weak, I used one. Own pillow if like feathers, but the pillows were 'not too stuffed.' Be sure to let them know if eating out in morning or may assume eating in. CLOSE to SKILIFT, max 10 mins walk with your skiis or a 'Garderie' to leave them at lift area. Wonderful little cinema in the village, the hot water 'baths' walking distance ( book on line for baths, a time slot as capacity is regulated currently... only accept Synthetic swimsuits, large range on sale on site, Its a million times nicer than you might imagine! Stunningly presented, modern, very clean) We would certainly return to Gite Flourou! Quiet here, no dogs barking or road noise for our stay.

Very friendly service. Great value home made local produce meals for breakfast and dinner. As a family we also stayed in the hotel which was children friendly, well maintained, modestly priced even though it was the height of the ski season. And all this just 100m from a little used button to the slopes.

We were in room 2. On entering the room we were hit by a stink.....it was coming from the stained and old carpet. Despite keeping the bathroom window open all night the stench never left the room. So disgusting. Cobwebs in our room as well as at the back entrance where a code is needed to enter the hotel. On a positive note the restaurant serves very good dinners with a varied menu. We tried steak and salmon and both were delicious. Good wine too! Friendly waiters and waitresses.

Located at the center of the village, on a quiet square, the hotel can host 72 persons.Villar d'Arene is a very good basecamp to start hicking, cycling and skiing around (Vallons de la Meije, ...)
We ate dinner here. The welcome was warm and friendly, the place was very traditional and cozy, the food was hearty mountain food. The gîte has a perfect location: right on the main square of the village. All we could have wished for in the middle of walking the GR54.

We stayed for a couple of nights B&B. The pool was great, as was the jacuzzi. The service was patchy; it was quite often difficult to find any staff at all. The waiter in the dining room the first evening was great; the second was passive aggressive. There wasn't enough decent bread either morning even though there weren't many people staying at the time. The breakfast staff were not very welcoming. Wifi was only available in the reception area. The bar was cheap, which is a plus. The apartments were OK but definitely needed refurbishment, especially the bathroom areas. A good solution on a limited budget.
