I have stayed at Fana Hotel several times. Every room has been clean and comfortable and staff is always responsive to my needs. The pool and bar area is an added bonus, but I would stay here even without it. The price for the area is also exceptional. It is well located close to the corniche des almadies and plenty of bars and restaurants in the area.

This is a gorgeous, clean hotel with very kind staff. Just a short walk up the lane, feet, from ferry and restaurants. Beauty is in room appointments, spacious with modern bathroom, and the central courtyard, lovely dark wood and green flowering plants. Only possible negative is that sounds travel in same courtyard or from street (kids go early to school) if you're sensitive to that; didn't bother me.

Ended up staying here due to problems with previous hotel. Recommended by a taxi driver who it turns out got paid commission for us to stay here, my husband is Senegalese so we managed to argue for the commission back! Stayed on the 5th floor. When we were shown our room a member of staff was actually having a shower in the bathroom! Good points the room is spacious and the bed was acceptable, good working air conditioning and separate lounge area with TV and fridge. The bathroom was disgusting and you had to turn the water off centrally to stop a terribly loud noise that was made by the water system. Not sure the bathroom had been cleaned, we didn't use the towels as thankfully we had our own. Our neighbours were staff from the hotel who made a lot of noise and smoked making our room smell of cigarettes. Despite being high up the room was noisy from the street and restaurant. Wifi worked intermittently. Staff were rude throughout. Ate at the 'restaurant' once, wouldn't recommend it, also quite dirty. Location is a bit out of central Dakar.

Very nice and accommodating staff at front desk and breakfast; nice breakfast selection for inclusive, much more than continental. Good blackout curtain, excellent a/c. Room was very clean but basic. Hot water, but it only dribbled out. Bluish tint long life light bulbs hard on the eyes. I was here with a group tour; I would not think it worth the posted rate of cfa 46,500 for a basic single if I were planning for myself.
